My buddy uses this thick wax-based lubricant/rustproofer. He later (spring) cleans it off with rubbing alcohol on a rag and it comes clean off.

Thoughts on his idea?

I totally agree. Last year's autocross was my first time trying it in my MZ3 GT hatch. And I loved it! the car felt balanced and fun from stock. I was running(stupidly) 18' BBS RS-GT reps...
