    Re: ported box question?

Email Alpine and ask for a box build sheet.
They give you extact dimensions for the size of box, port size and length of port aswell.
Up or down is no different, internal car volume is to small for...

You are basically trying to choose between active and passive setup.
If you have money to spend and want the absolute best sound out of your speakers active is the way to go hands down.
    It can get...

    Re: Subwoofers..

500watts is not merly enough power for 2 woofers.
Your better off getting one woofer, my preference is always a 10" in a small car like a mazda.
1-10" woofer built in a ported box tuned properly...
  5. Re: Finally Painted my Mazda 3.. What do you guys think?

    Re: Who has Dynomatted?

Road noise was a very minimal change, but for bass it helped fix all the rattles.
I did the entire car from floor up and also added foam inbetween the door frame and the trim panel

    Re: Suggestions for new subwoofers

Spending $800 on a sub IS ridiculous especially if its a 12 or a 10.
The only way you would pay $800 for a sub is because its a 15 or bigger and your seriously going to put a heck of power into it....

  16. Re: Unhappy with new front speakerrs / amp: vocals are high or clear
