Because also IMO 8" wide wheels...
Short answer, yes. Unless you want to run a fair amount of negative camber and narrow tires which will look odd on 8 inch wheels.
17x8 +30 front, 17x9 +35 rear.

I've always wanted 18" Style 5s, but the offset combined with the need to redrill makes them a...
The springs and shocks will fit, you will probably need a longer (1st-gen) rear shock bolt though. Since the 1st-gen springs tend to run a little lower on the 2nd-gen cars, I would recommend a...
At least 3" drop from stock. For that tire size to look good, you essentially need coilovers and to run at or near their lowest setting.
215/35 is a really short sidewall unless you're REALLY low. At stock height it will look pretty ridiculous.
Best practice is to use proper hub-centric rings to fill the gap properly. Having said that I've run larger bores on Mazdas many times, without rings, without issue.
I've run non-hubcentric wheels without rings and had no problems; I've also run some without rings and had vibrations in the steering wheel. It's not a big deal if you don't feel anything, and if...
I overheard it in the La Paloma parking lot last night.
TWSS.
In this case it's not the wheels, it's the tires. 215/45 is actually taller than 225/40. Otherwise you might not need a roll.
Depends on lowering. That was my setup last year, needed a minor roll in the back to minimize rubbing. I'm on first gen prokits, which are nearly sportline drop on my car, but relatively soft springs.
Maybe I just need to do some more avatar-editing.
Fixed.
This.
You may not rub the fenders but I bet you'd rub the fender liners. I had 215/45R18s on 18x8 +35 wheels and rubbed part of the fender liners both front (bumps when turning) and rear (large bumps at...
I suspect your shop is used to doing straight tire swaps on Corollas and Camrys.
You have tires meant for 16" diameter rims. They WILL NOT fit on 17" diameter rims. The inner circle of the tire will be exactly 1" too small.
If he's on Prokits, how would you adjust the front camber? Furthermore, they are not the stiffest spring and the 235/40R18 is a taller-than-stock tire, so rubbing is still likely even if the drop...
Loki said 18x8 +42 offset with 235/40/R18 rubbed. Going to 245/40R18 and +35 offset will rub more. Wider tires, less offset pushes the outer tread further out.
Not when the bore of the wheels is smaller than the hub. 5mm spacers would likely push the wheels far enough out that they would fit. That's what I did with my BBS.
Well I did 17x8 +30 on the front of my '07, 204/45R17. Very minor roll/pull on the fenders with a pipe.
So is there a specific reason you want 20" rims? They will be much heavier than your stock ones, and the tires very thin - giving you a rougher ride and making it easier to damage the rims.
Why...
Probably only one way to find out. As posted, those rear tires are extremely wide for both the wheels you spec'd and the car's fenders. Chances are you get some fender rubbing even with just 245s.
Not at that height.
