Although I must say his leather would be fairly resilient to the embedding of such noxious body by-products. On the other hand, if he had cloth seats, there is the possibility of a continued odour lingering in the fabric if the force of the gaseous explosion is powerful enough to embed itself into the very core of the fabric strands. Why just the other day, I let one rip and the smell lingered for at least a couple of days - good memories. Fortunately, the fabric colour of my seats is dark enough that any stains are not readily noticeable. I would be concerned, however, if I had a Sand Mica coloured car with the lighter fabric colouring.

Anyways, back on topic, the new car smell you have there is a nasty mix of fumes, solvents and other garbage released from the plastics, etc. Better to air it out and get yourself a nice car perfume. I like the Passion Peach smell myself.

My new car smell is lingering but fading.... When it\'s gone I\'m going throw a bounce sheet under the seat and keep it smelling like fresh laundry.

I guess they don\'t have a huge mother zip lock bag to drive the car into.

Get use to the idea of that new car smell fading, because it will. Altho my sister got into the car recently and said it smelled like a new car still. Isn\'t there a \"new car smell\" air freshner?

Or, you could just sell the car once the smell is gone and buy another one:p
