Finally got around to lifting some pix off the hard drive. Some are retaken in a similar location, did a little bit of HDR work, I'm not the happiest with the result but it will have to do. Pictures will eventually come of the new head unit.

Alright so I finally got some pics going of the new deck. 6.5" DVD/VCD/MP3/MPEG Player. 4 x 45W. Aux in, TV in, Dual AUX out. DVD/SD/USB/CD.

I'm incredibly happy, not only does it fit well and look good, the output is so much better than before. Not only on the stock speakers but the sub as well. The same level of base is achieved with less volume and less gain (gain less by about 6!!!). I've upgraded from the Audiolink and 1GB card to an in deck SD 2GB card holding lots of songs and vids.

Although I've lost the steering wheel controls, I'm getting used to the remote which now that I've learned the controls is just as easy. The blue buttons are a nice contrast to the red and fit my blue/black/red theme well. I miss my reverse polarized display on the stock deck, but only because that took a lot of work.

The hardest part was getting it to fit flush, I had to grind away a decent amount off the dash kit to fit the unit but I'm happy with the result and you can't tell at all because all the removed plastic is out of view. I also had to install a support to hold up the deck as to make the kit fit flush with the rest of the dash, but yet again I'm happy with the result and the way I made it, it will reduce vibration through the deck as well. Now....to stop spending money....

That first shot of your screen looks mint, but be careful with that paint brush =P
The screen install looks clean, how well does the colour of the plastic match?

I really like the look of the first picture.
The only thing I don't like about these kind of mod is the massive amount of empty space around the screen especially with that type of plastic. That's just me though.

lol, the second shot is actually a single image HDR (again)....I'm trying to fiddle around with it, but nothing is done paintbrush wise to the actual picture.

The plastic does match the centre dash plastic of the upper dash, so it looks like it continues from the top of the dash to just above the HVAC controls. It matches really well and looks oem.

Lost out on DIVX, BTooth and Nav. Price was obviously an object, mind you I can add Nav through an auxilary input.

Slushbox to Stick is a little more expensive, and we all know I'd love to have a stick but thems the breaks.

It a lot of space at first, but in the cabin its not that bad. Passenger's focus on the screen and mention that it looks clean and OEM style, not to much lost space. But there definitly is a lot of space.

One thing I thought would bother me is the extra cubby where the OEM display was. But its not that bad, it fit the remote perfectly (where I usually keep it, not beside the stick).

Alright, so I accomplished nothing the entire long weekend except for possibly finding a couple of shots for the portfolio. The first one is just some perspective, nothing special. The second is an HDR. It may not be to some tastes but I like it. There is plenty of detail in the photo while almost looking like a painting. It objectifies the car. I like it. May I add, its not an effect, HDR is a technique!

hehe, I don't know how long that decal will stay their. I've considered doing the white stripes along the doors nextmod supported, but we'll see. Gotta keep the theme.

Until I get my lip, the butt of my car is still my favorite part.

    I love the rims!

I see that you are running 225/40/18 and are dropped on Prokits.... do you know the width and offsest of your rims? And you do get much (any?) rubbing? I'm trying so see what I'm going to run into when I drop my car (I just put on 225/45/17 ZE912s on 17x8 rims)

    Thx man.

    I'm running 225/40/18 tire wise. The rims are 18x7.5 45ET (45mm offset).

Now that I'm on the pro-kits I rub at full steering lock, and also over large bumps. Only in the front though.
