Default Pricing & Specs on Mazda.ca

Mazda Canada has the 5 on their \"build & price\", not too bad, starts at 20K, and is fairly comparable to a 3 in terms of features. It has a few features that the 3 lacks, like Climate Control if A/C is purchased, side curtain air bags, etc.

Still can\'t decide if Mazda is gonna do well with it.

\"The 5-speed manual transmission used in the Mazda5 is fundamentally the same as that used in the Mazda3, with refinements for smoother, easier operation. In the Mazda5, the 1st and 2nd gears have triple-cone synchronizers (double-cone on the Mazda3), and the 3rd and 4th gears have dual-cone synchronizers (single cone on the Mazda3). The higher capacity synchronizers cut shift effort by 15-35% from the Mazda3 levels.\"

For those of us who has a 5sp M3, we should of had a tranny like the 5 has it. This is so unfair, we lean for a sportier 3 but had deserved a worse gear box! arc

Well with the upgraded synchro\'s with the 5spd it will be needed more with the heavier ass-hauling capabilities the M5 will need.
The above comments were solely of CarDemon. They may not fully represent the TM3 Club Board, etiquette and belief system. However, a great degree of tact was taken into consideration to allow for creativity, humour and individual self expression.

Sorry..., I meant that the extra synchros should help the smoothness and ease of the bigger and heavier M5 vehicle and the strain due to extra passenger payload and the weight of the vehicle itself it plans to take on.

Acronyms are awesome to use if we can get away with them at a fancy function until they see what you drive in the lot or what the valet attendant pulls up for you.
