I called Mazda head office today and asked them for a list of what is/not covered and they will be sending it to us. We never got it when we got the original form. It will take up to 45 days for me to receive it.

Here is what they'll send you ...
Here is what MAP does not cover (from the linked PDF):
everything regarding Mazda warranties is on www.mazda.ca --> Parts & Service --> WarrantyWhat is not covered: Of course, no protection program can cover every
possible circumstance. The following items, which are considered a
maintenance repair, are not covered by Mazda Added Protection plans
Glass, lenses, sealed beams, light bulbs, trim, mouldings, bright metal
upholstery, Miata soft-top fabric, paint, body, exhaust system (including
catalytic converter), brake pads, brake shoes, brake rotors and drums, clutch
linings, shock absorbers, McPherson struts, steering rack boots, drive
axle boots, inner and outer tie rod ends, ball joints, stabilizer links and
bushings, control arm bushings, batteries, spark plugs, spark plug wire sets
distributor rotor, heater pipes and hoses, tires, side view mirrors, belts
external shift linkage, spare tire carrier, steel and alloy wheels, fuses
wiper blades, adjustments, water leaks, wheel balancing, wheel alignment
accessories (except Dealer installed Mazda air conditioning kits).
Thank you Sir
Nice to see Wheel bearings are covered. I dont understand why it will take 45 days for them send it though?
If I change my own oil and keep the receipts, will my warranty be preserved?
I just bought a used 06 Sport GT with 31,000km - it wasn't advertised as having any extended warranty. BUT - lucky me - when going through the glove box, I found paperwork that shows the previous owner bought the 60/100,000km extended warranty (NC5100). At least that's what I think it says - it's all in French (quebec car).
How sweet is that?!?!
Wow - just called Mazda Canada and they make it EXTREMELY hard to transfer these. You need to have the original purchaser sign a transfer form, and you need to supply all maintenance records.
Jeff-TheBiz - any way around this if you don't have the transfer form and the maintenance records?
What a waste of the original buyer's money...
NEW FLASH.
Mazda Added Protection warranty price is going up on January 4th 2010.
Email me if you would like to beat the increase.
Can somebody out there talk about any major repairs that had to be done to the car when the mileage started to roll way up ?
I had three Mazdas in the last ten years. Just purchased the 2010 3GT few weeks ago. I was offered these kind of extended waranties which for what they supposedely cover I find too expensive. Not to mention that the dealer pressures you to go through and pay for all regular maintance check ups.
You can do your own visual check ups and change spark plugs yourself.
I returned my 2000 leased Protege with 145km. All I ever let the Dealer do on it was oil changes, (apart from the timing belt and brakes).
My 2003 I traded in with 169kms. Same deal !
So as far as I'm concerned I will not pay for those extras.
Let's not even talk about the extra rust proofing, Perma shine, Scotchguard, lif insurance etc....etc...
If I was buying a Ford or a Chevy, Yes, probably.

is the comprehensive worth buying? Seems like everything that MAY go wrong isn't even covered...
Here's an example: the parking brake cable on my 06 is rusted to the point that it will not release the brakes when i put the elver back down. Not covered by warranty..

Is anything ever covered under these Warranties? Makes one wonder. I have less than a year left with this car and was wondering if the Roadside assistance is included in the Extended Warranty?
Aint want no Rustbuckets Here!!!
Good. So I dont have to go out and get CAA for this year then
i think i may just forget about the warranty on my new car... seems like a waste of $1500 to me
Edit: i did some research, as suggested below, and have decided it's not worth it. The car comes with the warranty for 3 years, so to extend it to 6 i'd have to pay about $500 a year plus taxes. I doubt i'll have to spend $1500 on repairs between years 3-6 of the cars life, and even if I do, there's no guarantee those repairs would be covered by warranty. Sure I may have to pay $500 a year when the car gets older, but the warranty wouldn't extend pass the 6 year mark anyways. I'd rather have the cash in my pocket.

I have a question. Once the original MAP runs out, and say we buy the car after the lease is up, can we get another MAP on the car?
Okay.
