Question about Automatic Climate control
Anyone know why auto climate control wasn\'t available on the 2004-2006 Mazda 3\'s?
If you look at the LCD right beside the outside temp guage you can see the outlines for the various funcitons of the auto climate control. I\'ve also noticed some pics of mazda 3\'s with different controls then mine and i\'m guessing everybody elses 3\'s.

Also is the any way to get these controls put into current Mazda 3 ?

Anything is possible, but it may be cost prohibitive.
- new sensors?
- new AC unit?
- new ECU?
Just have your passenger do it, that\'s my automatic climate control!

probably due to cost/market desire.. now they are available as a luxury pkg (more $$$)
same LCD for all mazda3s (NA, EURO, JAPAN.. etc) - cuts costs
i don\'t think anyone has tried swapping yet.. but my dad has it on his USDM mazda and he says he doesn\'t like it.. and truthfully the air comes out on the windshield in auto mode and you can\'t change it (unless he\'s a complete mofo)
i found it annoying when i used it and his was set to show F instead of C so that was a pissoff too :p

I had climate control on my last car and to be perfectly honest, used it once in two years. I really hate the way it blows so forcefully in the intial start-up and is constantly changing fan speeds.

Why didnt we get side air bags? How about headlight washers? Or a rear fog light? or or... heated seats (initially), or a rear middle head rest and arm rest? Or Navi? Or Bose stereo?
I wonder if the Europeans are complaning that they didnt get cruise control and a wing on their Sports?

cruise control is plug and play my 3 didnt have it. all it takes is to replace the audio control switch with the one that encorporates the cruise control switch and replace the brake pedal sensor with the cruise one and it all works out. Its a catch 22. I have an 05 sport and I declined the option for leather as it felt rather low quality and the lack of it beaing heated. But now I kinda regret it because it is leather lol As for the auto climate controls I\'d still like to see someone do that conversion.
