Hey guys,
I just joined to learn more about mazda 3 before purchasing one.
You guys know any dealers that could give a good deal?
I just found out that max discount is $500.
I'm not in a rush on buying.

Max discount is only $500? Maybe now that they are selling so well and a new model just came out... Where are you from? So we could help you with dealers that are local to you.
I have had really good service at Mazda Of Toronto and Erin Mills Mazda! I can tell you I have had terrible service from both Burlington Mazda and Oakville Mazda. I will never go back to Oakville Mazda. Even if they called to say I won $100 bucks and had to come pick it up... I still wouldn't go... I would say f the $100.
P.S. Welcome to the club & I love the colours. Ha.
Thanks!
I live in toronto. I went to Dufferin Mazda, they told me maximum $500 from any dealer, and will be lucky to get it.
I really like this car and planning to get the GT (pearl white or electric blue) - probably with luxury package.
You think it is worth it for the luxury package?
I wish I had the pearl white. I have the sport gt w/luxury package on mine & it was well worth the $1000 or $1500 or whatever it is... been a few years since I priced the luxury package out and I can't remember.Originally Posted by stuckbroker

I actually have a question.
What do you guys think about the tiptronic?
is there too much lag?
I drive a manual, but i may have to buy an automatic so my gf can drive it too
I've heard that the tip is decent... the lag is about a second or so i thinkOriginally Posted by stuckbroker
(I don't have tiptronic so Im just going by what i remmeber reading and hearing).
You will learn to adjust to the lag.
or if you're Pearly, you can even rev match with it.
The tiptronic is not bad. I drove my friend's auto through twisty mountain roads and it's not all that bad. Much better in traffic if you ask me. lol
PM sent and replied..
Hope to hear from your soon, and welcome to the board.

i suggest go with stick. i have an 06 tiptronic (not my decission) and although you'll appretiate it more after a couple of spirited runs on twisty roads ;D because you'll get used to the tranny and the engine, its still missing the neutral and the response that u can get with the stick. you'll also get better milleage with a stick.
p.s. if you want to feel the zoom zoom, get rid of the body roll asap, right now its killing me, thats the only major complaint i have with the car.
first, mileage is not going to be a strong point either way. If you want mileage get the 2.0.Originally Posted by stas
The car is rated at 9.2 city for manual and 9.4 for auto. Not a noticable of a difference if you ask me. (I get 9.8ish)
secondly, im sure the hatch rolls a bit more than the sedan, so i know what stas, you are talking about. rear sway + springs needed!
with the tiptronic i get 10.8, and i think that number is going to climb. to be honest the car needs the neutral, you don't want it to be in gear all the time, and personally its also a convenience factor for me, the car does run much smoother then with tiptronic. maybe it's like that for me because of my driving style.Originally Posted by Chuckie

I would not consider the 2.0L as a better economy motor. I got anywhere from sub 400 to 460, depending on the amount driven highway/city to a tank 45L (when the light pops on~10L left)Originally Posted by Chuckie
I do know that the 2.0L suffered less catastrophic failures than the 2.3, but other than that hardly any differences. *
If you go for the 2.0L you will not miss much from not going with the 2.3
