Stereo display

My wife has a 2007 M3 and her stereo has 3 sections on the display. I just picked up a 2004 M3 and although it has 3 sections there is only info on the first and second sections of the display. The section on the right (Temp control on hers) is blank. Is this normal or is it broken?

the 06+ have the ambient temperature display.

She will also be missing the trip computer info like km remaining etc..

It looks odd with the right section always blank, oh well....
