Stupid Freezing Cold Weather Shattered my Windshield

So it goes like this . . . . . I tried to remote start my Car this morning but for some reason did cooperate. Therefore, I had to manually start it. Again, no luck. I open the trunk to get tools to see if the Battery is causing the problem. After inspecting the battery, I went back to return the tools in the trunk. But the Rear Window can't/won't close. So I decided to slam it a little bit. . . . . . . . .


and this is what happened

Wow I've never heard of that happening. I hope you can find a cheap rear window (BTW, I just have to point out that it is not called a rear windshield!). Maybe try some wreckers. The rear windows tend to cost more than the other windows because of the built in defroster.

they can be called rear windshield since it is a variation of "windscreen" ... which some still do call it in the UK.

semantically, all windows in a car can be windshields as they do shield you from the wind.

I know what you are saying, but to call it a windshield would be quite obscure here. Heck, by that line of thinking, you can call the door panels and the roof windshields as well. Here are some definitions (I know we're getting off-topic):

Nope, The Window/Windshield was perfectly in shape. I think the wind-chill at that time was -38 to -42.

We really should take it easy closing doors/windows when it's really cold outside.

The trunk door open and closes no problem. It was the stubborn Rear Window that did not close properly (but it was only during that time). My best guess is due to frozen lock.
