    Default hows everyone been

dont know if anyone remembers me, but i remember some of you. anyway i wanted to tell a story about what happened with our mazda 3.

we prepaid for oil changes and tire rotations when we bought the car. all was going well, until one day my wife brought it home and i noticed the usual brake dust all over the back wheels. aha, they didn't rotate the tires like they said they did. so i took it back and the service manager gave me a song and dance and i told him you know and i know the mazda 3 has a rear brake dust problem, and even if it didn't these dirty wheels dont have even one single fingerprint on them, that is not possible if they rotated the tires. he claimed there is no rear brake dust problem. i told him hey, maybe the guy just forgot to rotate them, then he said you don't call me a liar and kicked me out. i emailed the general manager of the dealership and he called my wife and my wife told him to call me, he said he would but he never did. so, i sent a letter to mazda north america and they said all they could do is get the general manager to call me, which he did, and i got my prepaid money back. all that over a stupid tire rotation. i told the guy just admit a mistake was made and i will be happy and they wouldn't do it. oh well...i thought maybe someone would find this interesting, maybe not.

    Good post.

It proves that although you can hide it for awhile,
ignorance and stupidity are very much alive.

Can you post the dealership in the hopes of making it more honest?

i didn't post the dealership because it is in coconut creek, florida. for those that don't know me, or remember me, the powers that be allowed me to join this board even though i live way down here. i go to japan sometimes and once i got the part numbers so you all could order the japanese version antenna and some other things. this is where i first started seeing how we weren't the only ones with the rear brake dust thing that the dealership claimed to know nothing about ...

Welcome back! Its not always the case to rotate your tires at every oil change it depends on the wear, but hey, they should have been less stubborn.

Florida eh? I was going to guess BURLINGTON OR OAKVILLE Mazda. They play tricks like that too.

    Exaaaaaaaaaaaaactly
So in that case the dealership SHOULD have advised him of this and not taken his pre-paid money for tire rotations that werent even needed

I had no idea you can even do such a thing

if thats the case I wouldve done it when I bought my car when oil changes were $26.99 (ahhhhhhhh the good ol' days!)

I've been doing this for years. I buy them 12 at a time and get a card punched every time I get my oil changed.

It's averaged out to around $18 per change for me, instead of the regular $35 or whatever the current dealer rate is now. As long as you want to continue going to that dealer, it should work out well.

I'm assuming by Jeff's comment that MoT doesn't offer any such thing, right?

For the record we don't have anything like that.. But I would be afraid of a dealership/business offering prepaid services only to close up shop later..

    I don't prepay for anything.

it's a domestic thing.. when we had a 99 grand am, we had the same system of punch cards.. nothing like that in this neck of the woods tho..

Yea with our GM trucks we've usually gotten free oil changes for at least a year, sometimes longer. Some dealers include the Pre-Paid oil change as an incentive in the sale. Our current dealer does not.
