Wanted to give jimmy a shout-out.
My driver side wheel bearing blew and I called him at 4:50pm today. It was a pretty big emergency; I got to drive back to London tomorrow to go back to university. He was closing in 10 minutes but told me to swing by.
Took it for a drive, told me the problem, and said if I get the part, he could fix it for me tomorrow (Sunday)
No mechanics work on Sunday!!! Stayed after and waited for me, and told me exactly how much it would likely cost, issues, etc. Suggested that if it had been any other time, that I get the part from Flip Daddy.
After leaving I rushed to partsource, picked up the part, and will be bringing it back tomorrow to get it fixed. Would also like to mention that I had a starting issue which, some have already mentioned before, has to do with corrosion from the starter connector. I took it to my usual mechanic, one of the guys around bullock (great guys too) but they told me likely had to rebuild my starter for ~300. Gave Jimmy a call after lots of googling and he told me what to do by sanding. Did it, and haven't had a problem since.
That was my little schpeil about Jimmy, I'm thoroughly impressed. I owe him and this forum lots of thanks and money.

Usual oil change and nothing but the best service
Thanks man!
got oil change and transmission fluid done @ jimmy's today. Great as always and great to talk to.
will be back there in a couple of weeks to get other things done. A+
Went to see Jimmy and got some work done on my car. A+ service as usual. Spared some extra time to work on some minor unexpected issues despite many other Tm3'ers there to see him during the day

From what I understand, that was the second night in a row that jimmy stayed well after 9pm. Cant thank him enough for the great convos and excellent work!
Thank you Jimmy for all your hard work!!
met a few more Speed3 owners. Great community!
Quick question: Does Jimmy use the OEM Mazda oil filters? Or do I need to bring my own.

got my prokits installed today by jimmy.... had to wait quite a bit but that's understandable. Did a great job and am real happy with how the car looks now. He even pointed some other crap that was busted and gave me some advice on how to deal with it.
Jimmy fixed my GF's coolant leak in her car. Took him ages cause the worn-out part was near the firewall hidden behind a bunch of shit. He showed me where it was, and I was surprised he found it.
Thank you Jimmy having a sharp eye! I tried to find the leak but failed.
was there for an oil-change. jimmy noticed i lost a nut ... fixed it for free.
saw igc89's installed prokit (tempting) and also met Funman!
I just wanted to write a glowing review for Jimmy before I head to bed. Btw, my car has 80k and is a 2007 Mazda 3 Sport.
Coles notes:
- oil change @ AG+R resulted in thick white smoke (overfilled engine oil)
- brought car to Jimmy for inspection
- confirmed there was too much engine oil
- without me asking, he emptied engine oil, and refilled it at the right amount (
- replaced crushed washer (free of charge)
- took an overall look at my car, diagnosed car and suggested things that need to be replaced soon
- while I was there, I did a transmission fluid change (suggested by AG+R and confirmed by Jimmy)
- checked battery
- answered all my questions and was very patient and friendly

Long version: Yesterday, I took my car to Active Green and Ross @ Kennedy/Steeles for an oil change (tried to be cheap). When it was all said and done, my car was puffing white smoke so thick I couldn't see through my rear view mirror. In the mean time, my car was back in the garage at AGR while they tried to diagnose the problem. Turns out they overfilled the engine oil. They said they emptied it and refilled it again. The car was still smoking when we restarted the car so they took it for a long drive around the block to try to burn off the excessive engine oil. It came back a lot less smokey but there were still traces of white smoke.
I didn't rust these idiots so I consulted Jimmy - the first person I could think of to call. I explained to him the situation and he suggested a couple potential issues. I asked if I could visit his shop right away to take a look at the problem and he said sure. I made my way over to his shop (which I should have gone to in the first place) and he confirmed there was too much engine oil. Without me asking, he emptied it and refilled it to the correct amount (Free of charge!). In the process he also diagnosed my car and made suggestions for upcoming repairs/service, replaced a crushed washer for the (engine casing? under the car where the oil comes out), and answered all my questions with patience and friendliness.
I also did a transmission fluid change while I was there which AG+R suggested and was confirmed by Jimmy.
I definitely learned my lesson and will only go to Jimmy for service now. He was a pleasure to meet.
Thank you Jimmy! I owe you one.
Just in shop putting on wheels and having an oil change done. Nice seeing Ami's speed 3 as well being worked on. Always fun to be there and joke around with him.
Hoping Jimmy will be able to install my new downpipe and catback exhaust for my Volvo V70R (maybe Monday?)...
