They told I can't be qualified for the promotion because I had 'discount' when I dealt the car. Hmmm...

I'm curious as to what Unoriginalusername's dealer did. He said "they found a way to make it work".
My dealer said the same thing about the dealer having to pay half, and Mazda paying half. With that in mind, I suppose if they'd offered the price with that incentive in mind, they'd have simply charged a little extra for the car.
As it stands, that's what I'm ending up getting. I'll get half the first payment made for me, which isn't much.
Apparently I can't hold back my down payment to make this more worth while. I'm told that Mazda Credit won't renegotiate the payments if I make a payment later on. The loan will simply get paid off quicker.
So basically, this is saving me a little under $200.
Better than a kick in the teeth, but not really a big deal in the overall scheme of things.
i had put down a big downpayment, so our payments aren't all that much so the dealer was able to pay half the payment since it isn't all that much. I got a great deal before that (below MRSP on a new speed3) plus the grad rebate in addition to some extra cash from this promotion.
Buying a car has so much to do with the person you are dealing with, and we happened to luck out and deal with an awesome person. Passion for cars, racing, honest and supper wicked to deal with for getting what i think is a great deal... couldn't be happier.
Ah... good stuff. I figured that since they'd already knocked over a grand off the MSRP, they just didn't want to suck up another couple hundred bucks. Sounds like your dealer was a bit more willing to move.
I wasn't going to press the issue since I bought the car through a broker and not having to negotiate was a perk of that. I figured I'd ask and if they said no, then that was that so getting another couple hundred bucks out of it just seems like a bonus.
Hello,
I did not buy a Mazda3 but I did get a Mazda 5 and was curious if I should go back to the dealer and ask about the Get into Gear Event.
I purchased it on March 31st but did not pick it up until April 5th.
I bought it using the X-Plan, should they still honour the first month payment since I didn't really use a March promotion?
Well after reading the X Plan website again it appears I should be able to get the April promotion. X Plan still qualifies for public promotions and incentives. Now lets see if the dealer will go for it since I already picked up my car.
Looking forward to tomorrow to see how this goes.
I got X Plan - $231 worth of accessories.
I suppose I could offer to pay the $231+taxes to the Dealer then get the pay the first payment incentive which would be $672. I still end up with about $400 extra in my pocket.
Off to the Dealer tomorrow morning!!
At the very least I would like half my payment from Mazda Canada.

I bought at Kieswetter in Kitchener.
Well I asked and sales said no, XPlan members do not qualify because the dealer has to pay for that first month . I replied that XPlan site says I do qualify. Ok let me go talk to Sales Manager. Well we tossed in accessories. My reply was look I believe you pay half and Mazda Canada pays half of the first month. I simply want Mazda Canada's half I am not worried about the $70 you would owe me.
Sales Manager says this will have to go to the owner.
Owner says unfortunately because I picked up the car on Thursday 9am(they say before they had the April incentives info) AND the paper work has been sent off to bank and Mazda their hands are tied. They did however say I should contact Mazda Canada and see if they can do something for me. Pass the buck? Maybe. Makes the dealer look like they tried and doesnt look like a bad guy
I believe they would have went for this if I hadn't already picked up my car... I like to believe they would have anyways.
So I wait and see what happens when I call Mazda Canada Monday or Tuesday.
Maybe if I saw this site before I purchased the 5 I could have dealt with The Biz
Either way I still 'feel' like I got a good deal, but if I could get another 300-400 from Mazda Canada it would make it a great deal in my mind.

Happy Monday to me! I came in to work and there was a message on my phone. Lo and behold, right out of the blue it's from my dealer and they're saying they're going to make the whole first payment for me.
Props to them! I was perfectly happy with them just making half. This was certainly a pleasant surprise.
Now if only my car could show up quickly...
Excellent news Wild Weasel!
Mazda Canada says they will look into this for me. The date they would normally go by is the date of signing which would make me ineligible, but their records show me as getting it April7th. I actually picked it up on the 5th.
They will call me back in a few business days and let me know what they decide. They also told me they take care of the entire first payment not the dealer.
My fingers are crossed hoping for my first payment.

heh. Maybe there was some misunderstanding and my dealer just realized it and offered me the whole thing.
Either way, it's good news for me!
I just got my answer back from my salesman about this promo. You intrigued me to ask him, since I haven't done final signing until the end of the month, so I should qualify.
I didn't get my first payment knocked off, but I get my finance rate changed from 2.9 to 1.9%
Diesel tractor...
Well Mazda Canada said no go. I signed the deal on March 31st and got the Xplan price and the dealer gave me the rear bumper step plate, soft cargo cover, and hood deflector(which i then changed for the 3m clear bra, i paid the difference in price) which was a good deal already and likely would not have got if I went in April. I said look I will pay back the $289 with tax if you give me my first month. No can do.
Ah well shit happens.
I had to try, guess I should not have rushed into the March 31st purchase
Too bad the sales person said I could get the better of the March or April incentives when I signed. Well i didnt get a March incentive there wasn't one so I figure I should have got the April one.
Nope, I do not have anything to complain about But when I saw the commercial and I picked it up in April I had to try.
Are you sure you're not talking about the PDI charge of $515? If so, then that's normal.
On my yellow sheet, the standard items are all permanently printed on the sheet. These include the following:
Total Sales Price
Freight
Pre-Delivery Inspection
Air Excise Tax
Fuel Conservation Tax
Documentation Fee
Metallic Paint
Then there are blank lines where the printer adds some stuff. This is where stuff like "Added Warranty" is printed.
Then at the bottom is more permanent stuff.
That "Pre-Delivery Inspection" is the PDI.
WW beat me to it.
