    Default aftermarket bumper(s) wo/skirts?

    Hi all,

So, as the story goes I've got an '04 hatch and over the past few years I've collected some war wounds.

Got some damage on the side of my front bumper from parking lot trauma, and some damage on the back bumper from getting hit.

I'm looking for some advice on aftermarket bumpers. I'm considering picking up a new front bumper. I'm just worried that the bumper could be lower then the stock skirts on the 3 and look stupid. I can't seem to find enough information on most kits about actual dimensions, nor do I know anyone that has a kit installed.

A full kit w/paint is just a bit too much $$ for me right now.

Does anyone have any advice/info or know anyone who has gone this route?

    BF.

    Hey man,

    sorry for the battle wounds...

Maybe the lip that Supershyguy might be able to "hide" some of the wounds?

    It looks really sweet too!

    Try sending him a PM...

He goes under Nextmod under the sponsers, you can see his stuff over there...

    Good luck buddy!

If the bumper is noticably lower than the skirts, then it generally does end up looking stupid.

There may be aftermarket bumpers that aren't that low though. Have you looked around at what's available?

    hey,

Well, I've checked out a whole load of kits. Some of them look like they could work, but I gotta be sure. I'm gonna start emailing to find out some details about how low the after market f bumpers are.

    Well,

So far I've gotten a few replies. Seem that many are not sure about the exact dimension of and kit parts.

On average though, there is about a 2 inch drop on most kits relative to the stock m3 setup.

I spoke to the guys at the body-kit.com (accolade stuff) and they said there is a 1" drop on their front bumpers and that it shouldn't be a problem driving with them on in mostly all conditions.

I think I'll be saving for a full kit. Even though a 1" drop is not that much, the body still might now flow well.

Any idea about the quality or erebuni kits?

I have no experience with aftermarket kits.

    Bahhh..

All affordable GT kits are not that impressive. I was looking for urethane, looks like 99% are fiber.

Accolade has one called Ms-Aspec on their site. Not too pretty. I emailed them to get prices.
