    Default Stereo/stickers

    Hey everyone,
as the title says I hope this is the right place to put this thread, so far all of my threads have needed to be moved (my apologies to the moderators, I am humble and willing to learn and appreciate your patience) *bows*

Okay so to the question... I was told by the dealership that the stock stereo has auxiliary jacks in the back of it for subs?? does anyone know a) if this is true b) how many jacks there are (2 for front 2 for rear 2 for subs etc etc) and c) how big of a mission is it to take out the deck itself to check??

Secondly... I'm looking to find some ZOOM ZOOM stickers other then physically going to Shinzo graphics and having them made for me. Anyone know where they can be bought?

I got my Zoom Zoom sticker (coloured to match my car) from TheBiz at Mazda of Toronto. PM him for details.

if you want white zoom zoom stickers, everyone who went to MOM last year got a stack, mine are all used up (on my friends winter beater . . lol)
but perhaps someone has a few left and they wouldnt mind hooking you up with one.

OKAY THANKS AGAIN BROLI... checked the "how to" section and couldnt find anything about the HU removal...... the only thing I found was the post for the sirius radio install but the first part of it was removed.

well, it is easy, i cant remember which walk thru has it

    1. remove dash strip (it has a little hook all the way to the passanger side
    2. remove two screws that hold hu in (been awhile since i took it out, i am pretty sure it is only 2 screws)
    3. pull out hu and unplug

you don't have to do step 3 (remove the cover for the cd player).. mine stayed on when I removed the dash..

There aren't any RCA inputs/outputs on the deck. You can use a loc (line out converter) to hook up a sub to the stock deck though.

has anyone used the LOC?? how does the system sound without having sub controls?? and I'm assuming all the control for the subs would then be done through the amp??

I used to use an LOC until I changed my head unit. System still sounded great. Sub control is done through the amp.

    Thanks Ami,
still not sure whether or not to replace the hu.... really like hte steering wheel controls.. but have a killer hu sitting in my civic and it was amazing for all the controls it had built into it. With the LOC is it hard to wire into the stock hu or fairly easy???

I changed my head unit, but still kept my steering wheel controls. The LOC is a really easy wiring setup.

WLS ZMZM i have been looking to upgrade my stereo while keeping my stock HU. Depending on how much you wanna spend... LOC is the cheapest but have a look at the JL Audio Clean Sweep unit.

    http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_c...php?page_id=94

It's pretty much the same price as a new HU (cheapest i found was $499). So if you really wanna keep your stock HU this might be the was to go.

thanks for the post Virgy... checked it out... but its not exactly what I am looking for.... besides at that price.... might as well replace the HU. It would just mean pulling it out of my other car and changing the deck over....
