Thumbs down Wireless Back Up Camera

    http://www.roadmasterusa.com/backupcamera_vr3.php

I believe this is the same one (or same manufacturer) sold at Canadian Tire. I picked this up at Costco for $99 or something like that.

    Piece of crap.

Screen is really too small to be any use. Lots of wireless interference. In fact, one time driving through a neighbourhood, I pick up p0rn! No joke. Hardcore p0rn. If I could get that whenever I wanted, then it'd be worth the money, but otherwise it's a waste.

The picture is designed to come on when my reverse lights are activated (wired to the lights). Most of the times it works, sometimes it doesn't. Not sure if it's a bad connection at the lights or this is the way it is.

I guess it meets my basic needs though. I have a long narrow driveway and usually back in all the way into the garage. I have this fear of backing over my kids, so this was meant to reduce the big rear blindspot.

Unless you absolutely need it, don't buy it. The WUD just saved yourself $114 big ones. You're welcome.

Make sure you don't have the kids in the car with that thing on, you don't want them seeing that p0rn

I need to drive through your neighbourhood if theres random porn on the air ways lol.

If you want good quality on anything electronic, you always really need to go wired, the same goes with just about any device, wired is better then wireless.

I agree, you probably don't want to drill a hole in you're bumper... but have you maybe tried thinking about one of the beeping reverse systems instead?

hmm that really sucks... I bought one for my Dad's truck.... because he wanted one and I thought it was a good deal.... but now after hearing your review of this I have to say I'm not too pleased.... think I may have to return and go and buy a proper one....

    Correction:

    $89.99 at Costco.

Zaku, I will sell it to you for $20 on one condition: you have to let me install it. Drill some holes here and there - yeah, it'll look real good when I'm done with your car.

Don't buy this POS. But if you do, after you use it, please come back and tell me that I was right. I like that type of thing.
