Given up on the HB DRL?
2004 Mazda3 Sport GT|Winning Blue| OG 2.3L @ 450,000 km & counting
Haven't given up on anything. Just trying to decide if I want my fogs or my highbeams as the DRLs. Either is an option with McGuyver's setup.
Yep I agree with Joe. Here is it on a black hatch like yours:
I'm going with an HID kit soon too. I've always wanted DRL's switched to the fogs. Not the independant fog mod, as my lights are auto and I'd like to keep it that way.
2006 Mazda 3 Sport GT 5 speed manual. Titanium Grey. Eibach Pro-Kit. TWN Shift Bushings. 13% Solar Gard HP Tint. Black painted brake calipers (Dupont brush on kit) Love stains in the back. New mod: replaced original Gt bumper with a new one without plate holes. Relocated plate. (Thanks raccoon!)
I currently have fogs as DRLs (independent fog mod) and debating whether I want the high beams as DRLs instead.
Can the high beam DRL mod easily be disabled (remove the relay or something) and still maintain regular high beam functions (ie. high beam flash and constant on).
Not sure what you mean. I've (along with most) have auto lights and also have independent fog mod with no issue.
^^ Agreed. I have the fog mod and can still use my auto feature.

Is not here
Thanks for the pics guys. I'm leaning towards the fogs as the DRLs. My only real concern is if they are noticable enough since I like having DRLs.
Wait, does the independant fog mod mean they're the drl's now? You don't have to hassle with turning them on or off?
you jus have the added extra feature of having independant controll over them as well
