    Default Factory Speaker Q?

    So I have a 2006 Mazda3i 2.0L with the sport package option.....

Where can I find online the exact speaker sizes for the factory speakers in my car? I want to POSIBLy upgrade them, but I dont want anything fancy like an amp or deck, just upgrade the factory speakers with mildly better ones and put them in the same spots the factory ones are in now.. so no one would know the differance (visually at least).

Anyone suggest a brand or speaker type for direct bolt on factory replacements?..... Again not looking for anything fancy, just to replace crapy factory speakers. (will NOt be adding amp/sub/deck).. any only interested in direct bolt on / factory replacements.

    Thanks.

I just checked my car i know all the sites say 6x8.. but the speaker hoursing without looking at the speaker is perfectly circular on all 4 doors.... .. would be suprised if a 6x8 was behind a circular housing no?

    so will 6.5"
but you will need to fab up a mounting bracket.
i recently bought some 6.5" alpine R components, that will be installed hopefully soon

and fyi, you need an amp to propery power component speakers.

don't look at the cut-out in the door panel...those are circular, the speaker itself is a 6x8

i had opted for the 6.5" type-s co-axials because they are alot more efficient than the rest of pioneers line up. the stock deck pushes these speakers very well; i didn't even have to touch my fade adjustment. the sound quality improvement over the stickies was huge. much cleaner and detailed at all volume levels. i highly recommend going round over oval even though oval tends to be a little bassier, the rounds will sound cleaner and less distorted esp at higher listening levels. this is apparent even if you can listen to two identical models in different shapes in a showroom.

6.5" are not direct bolt in but if you got 5 mins and a jig saw you can build some adapter plates from 1/4" ply wood. but since you want direct bolt in, most good audio shops should be able to get you some adapter plates so that you can just screw every thing in.
