    Default Scarborough Mazda Review

Once again, very impressed with my recent service at Scarborough Mazda. Went there today without an appointment, oil change, tire rotation, hand car wash, all for $69.

They have been really great so far with me, and very quick.

I do have a question, a regular oil change is $39 I think, when I asked about synth oil he said it was around $70ish. Is that accurate?

How much do you think they would charge me if I brought in my own oil?

$70 alone just for synth oil seemed a bit excessive , so I just stayed with the stock oil.

    But another great experience.

How much is a 4L jug of syn? $30? $39+$30=$69

$70 is pretty normal, there's always larger markups on smaller volume items.

remember....filter is $12 alone. Also labor is $15 so that is $27 already. So $70-27= $43 for oil.

really they charge $12 for the filter??? when I did it at my mechanic shop they charged me $5 for the filter oh and as for the syn oil.... you can usually get a 4L jug for about $38 at Crappy tire sometimes cheaper at wal-mart... a few months ago they had castrol syntec 4L jugs for $27

I do my oil changes at Scarboro Mazda and bring my own Mobil 1, they charge me like $36 and I buy my syn from Walmart @ $38 a jug....so $70 is not bad....What brand of synthetic are they using?

they quoted 39 for a regular oil change, and 70 for the synth oil.
My whole service with tire rotation was about 69$. I didn't ask what brand, as I was a bit shocked from the price.

I keep hearing how synth oil is superior to the traditional oil, maybe for my next change I'll take the plunge.

I guess asking if anyone can tell a difference may be a silly question, but does it at all?
My wife drives the car like a softie, but I push the car pretty hard at times.
