RX8 Wheels

Just checking to see what you guys think about changing the stock 18" wheels on my MS3 to RX8 wheels. I would transfering the tires to the RX8 wheels.

Do you think the RX8 wheel is lighter or heavier than the MS3 wheel?

It is lighter. I think they weight the same. However RX8 wheels are 18x8 and MS3 wheels are 18x7 or 18x7.5, hence lighter.

Is there any clearance issues on a MS3 using the 215/45/18s?

No clearance issue with 215/45/18, that's stock size!
I have 235/40/18 on these suckas and no issues.

If I can find a nice set of RX8 wheels soon, and someone wants to buy my stock MS3 wheels I think I will change to RX8 wheels.

they are crazy expensive at the dealer... i would do 800-1200 obo. Mine are 11,000 km and the rims are mint... would you be interested in trading the rubber for some cash and then selling my wheels and tires

Garu sold his with the rubber for free for 700 but i think the average is a little higher

Let me know if you'd be interested in a wheel/tire swap for some cash and sell my set with a few more km on the rubber

I have decided to keep the stock wheels. I may get a set of 17 inch wheels for R compound tires for track days.

personally, i like the stock MS3s. they have that distinctive Speed look that really separates it from a regular 3 hatch.... if you're uninformed & not tuned in to the other cosmetic differences between the reg 3 and MS3, it looks too similar. .... now, if you throw some cross-drilled rotors in there w/ the brembo calipers..... i might consider the open-spoke RX8 as an even swap for my stocks
