Default Buzzing relay after HID install with RELAY harness

Hey guys, im having a slight problem, I installed my devin HID system yesterday and everything works no problem but when the HIDs are NOT recieving power the relay is buzzing. This happens after about 10 seconds after start up and like i said goes away when I manually turn them on, any ideas?

Is this how the harness is wired btw? its probably not grounded proporly but here is how I did it.

    Red, attachd to battery
Black -Attached to the ground "hub" no the driver side fender
    Balast plug- balast....self explanitory

NOW this is were I was confused, There is another 2 connectors, One was a SPADE the other a CIRCLE, the instructions said its the signal and connects to the main headlight harness, Are BOTH supposed to go to the main harness? because that is what I did? I put the one spade, then cutt off the round circle attachment and afixed my own spade attachment since logially it seemed to need 2...I didnt understand the point of having the circle one.

    Help?

if you are taping into the low beam on a pre 07 that is why your relay sounds like a buzzer..

if it is a pre 07 you need to tap into the always on wire from your signal lights in the headlight assembly.

Someone else shoudl be along shortly to provide a link and complete walk through. With out pics or seeing it, it is difficult to explain.
    Damn you photobucket.....

I'd suggest you send McGuyver a message, he's the resident expert on these things.

    Hey 04GTFX,
you explained only how you hooked up certain wires
    Red, attachd to battery
Black -Attached to the ground "hub" no the driver side fender
    Balast plug- balast....self explanitory
You forgot to tell us how your trigger wire was hooked up. If i remember correctly the trigger should be either white or blue in devins kit. You make it sound like you tapped the wire from the headlight harness itself like TheBiz was stating. You must either get it from the ambers like TheBiz stated or you can do it another way

    trigger-constant power
    12V -constant power
    ballasts-to ballasts
ground-connect to negative pulse wire on the switch
Simply run a wire through your dash in to your engine bay and connect it to the ground. Inside the vehicle at the light switch you will find 2 black/green wires with silver dots. You need 1 of them and it is the one that sits in the top corner. If you choose the wrong one the hids will either not turn on at all or will sta on constantly.
this method will let you keep the most stock lighting system. And both methods disable the drls

yeah that is exactly what I did, I went right into the low beam harness

What is the best way to wire this up now? I went to crappy tire to buy the 2 relays, female connectors and tap in so I can use my HI BEAMS as my DRL and still have the auto feature work for my HID and still be able to turn on my fogs since they are HID as well? I should still use the wire harness as well right?
    thanks !!!

You cannot use the power from the low beam harness because that is what is causing your relay to buzz. So you have to d it thrugh the ambers like stated above or the negative pulse wire up. The negative pulse will allow you to keep the most stock headlight settings.
    off
1 click- just ambers and tails
    2clicks-ambers, tails and low beams
auto- ambers tails and low beams

    the amber setup
    off
1 click- lowbeams ambers and tails
    2clicks-lowbeams ambers and tails
    auto lowbeams ambers and tails

To do the DRL mod you will need 1 87A relay and a regular 87 relay. I will have to pull up my wiring diagrams and get back to you on how to wire it up properly i forget. will pull them up and let you know

    Hey
i pulledout the trusty diagrams and this is what it should look like
    87A relay
    85 is body ground
86 is trigger from parking light
30 is power source (in this case the original lowbeam positive)
87 is lowbeam (now HID) positive(does not have enough power to operate hids)
87a is highbeam positive must be on the bulb side of the cut positive wire on both sides I explain why you have t cut it in the bottom

    87 Relay
    86+87 both to constant battery
    30 to HID's
85 to negative pulse wire from the light stalk switch
if you look at the connector with the clip facing downwards the top left wire is black/green with silver dots. That is your negative pulse wire. If you use the other one then your HID's will stay on constantly

You will also need a 3rd relay to shut off your highbeam light on your dash because the car will constatly think that the highbeams are always on. It does go out at night when your lowbeams are on but it is annoying during the day. You will have to cut both sides of the positive on the highbeam bulbs.
    87 Relay
30 must be hooked up the the bulb side of the positive cut wire for the highbeams on both sides
    85 is body ground
86 is trigger wire from car side cut harness only needs to be connected at 1 side
    87 is 12V constant

good luck and any more questions feel free to ask
    thanks

trigger from ambers i am positive it is orange blue
highbeam trigger just cut the positive side cannot remember what colour that is

great, thanks !!! this will help for sure ! but is there information on the exact wires I have to tap into and their location/colors?

also the relay I have does not have 87a, it just has two 87 connections, furthremore do I need one 87a and one 87 relay? or is it either or? I have two realys and both are identical, with dual 87 connections.

    thanks again !

to do this right you need 2 87 relays (the ones you have) and 1 87A relay. the colours of the wires dont get any clearer then that the ambers will be your corner light bulb and the lowbeam positive from your light connector and the highbeam positive from the highbeam.
    ambers-orange/blue
    headlights-blue/orange 1 side blue/red the other side
highbeams i cannot remember and my car is so taped up i cannot distinguish the colours

but really, the third relay is just to disable the dash high beam light indicator?

yes and trust me it gets annoying if you do not disable it. The light will still come on at night when yo flash the highbeams just the light wont be on until you turn your lowbeams on and use the highbeams
