Well looks like I'm moving on from current employer. Got a deal that I couldn't refuse from Red Hat. Principal software engineer on the new SDN / NFV team they are building out.

Start December 14th. Flying to Raleigh for orientation. Tomorrow get to talk to my CTO that I'm not staying even after a big push to keep me.

Any other software developers out there?

any engineers looking for something new, there's a crap ton of jobs for the big 3 in Michigan. Lot of canadians have been joining since there's apparently a shortage of engineers down here. If anyone is interested or has questions about what goes into a move down here and what it's like, let met know. I'm not responsible for hiring, i'm just putting it up here since i've been noticing a lot of posts going up lately

these are on the are engineering campuses, not at assembly plants, so no UAW.
You can pretty much be any engineer. The guys on our group are mechanical, computer, electrical (me), aerospace, automotive. there may even be an eng phys guy.

Experience would be an asset, but not necessary. As for both I believe a grade 12 Technical Diploma is required. Electrical 1&2 are prerequisites for the Electrical apprentices.

My company, Baxter, is hiring a supply chain manager for Alliston, ON. Not too bad a drive from Brampton, wouldn't be much traffic at least. We manufacture sterile IV solutions, 300k units/day. I'm a chemist and test the incoming raw materials. Job was just posted today, it's to replace the guy who left in November. A word of warning, the pharma industry has a ton of regulatory control/scrutiny which some are not used to depending on what prior industry they were in.

Been looking for a product design job since September when I was laid off and am having trouble. If you're in the design industry you'll know it's not always easy to get work or stable work!
I was most recently a retail store manager for Popeye's Supplements, but went to school for product design and have 1.5yrs practical experience in that field.
