    Default Wide rear view mirrors

    Hello everyone,

Not sure how pissed you guys are at the teeny tiny OEM rear view mirror we have but I am pretty .

I went to pmall to browse around today and I commonly see the brand "Broadway" and I was just wondering how the quality is. Any of you guys have them and how are they? Should I buy from Pmall or elsewhere? Pmall sells them for $23+tax. They come in different lengths, either flat or convex, some are tinted, some are anti-HID. Need some comments and suggestions please!

When I first got my car, I thought the RVM seemed a bit small. Then, looking into it, I realized that it covers the entire rear windshield, and a little more, so I've really got no use at all for something bigger. Not sure if this is also the case on the sedans.

If I were to get a bigger one though, I'd go with the autodimming one that's available.

I bought a Broadway mirror (un-tinted) from PMall when I first got my car. I have no complaints and it more than does the work I want it to. I hate our rear view mirrors. Wayyyyyyyy to small for my taste.

Ditto. I'm still on the fence about upgrading it to the autodimming version. I'm just leery about the electronics part of it.

I always laugh and think "They shop at pacific mall" when I see people with them

The only time I laugh harder is when I see the women around work wearing the "sneeze gaurds" lol.

You're not alone! RVM shows the whole rear windowwhich is all I need, and yeah, sometimes I have to look around the mirror, sometimes I have to slouch to see traffic lights too! (Luckily, my head doesn't touch the headliner or I wouldn't be driving a 3!)

I don't see the need for something that big. I mean, between the RVM and the SVMs, and checking your blindspots, what more do you need? I think this would just be ridiculously huge, and I personally find it to be overkill...

I use to have those school bus mirrors. Now I just direct the stock one towards the passenger side blind spot now.

It does come in different sizes and the one I have is a tad bigger than the stock one. Even though I always check my blind spots before turning, the bigger RVM just gives me a bit more coverage.

It isn't huge if you buy the correct size. Mine isn't as large as the one shown in the first post. I've just measured the visible mirror portion of our OEM rear view mirror and compared it to what I bought:

    OEM.............5.5cm x 21 cm
    Broadway......6.5 cm x 24 cm

It's a subtle difference (1cm in height and 3cm in width) but one that gives you greater visibility. I can see the two triangular sections of glazing in my RVM mirror. You're supposed to check your blind spots regardless of which size mirror you have. That's a given. This gives you an added sense of visibility.

Coming off my old car the OEM mirror was just too small.

I bought the 270M regular one

    http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/a...e/PA081086.jpg

The curvy one makes it better for you to see the right side more though I wouldn't rely on that as your major blindspot for your side mirrors but I would say you can see people in the back and abit of your head an the passengers head more and the back is widen more where as the straight ones just extend the side view . I'll take a picture when my 3 comes back from the dealer when they put all the mods I asked for in. Right now i'm on a loaner.

errrr can't edit posts yet but i'm almost there. Since your windows are tinted I would go with the regular ones since I don't see a plus in having your rear view mirrors tinted when your windows are already tinted. Its like washing the dishes twice. 270M is the max I would say. If you get a 300M, it will block the sun visor unless you don't want people pulling those down

I have one as well...slightly bigger than OEM sizing...works well.

I've seen some that are a pretty ridiculous size though....almost the width of the car interior!

mine is just 2 cm larger then the stock size but because it is concave (sp?) i can see my blind spots with out looking left or right.. I just look up and I see everything.

I think the mirrors are great... it means people actually use them to check for incoming cars and/or blindspots... I'm sure we have all experienced instances where the driver of a car obviously didn't check his RVM or SVM and just changed lanes or backed up...
