    Default Fog lights STOPPED working?

I just drove a friend home and I realized my fog lights stopped working completely. I have them for DRL and they were running fine during the day. I have independent fog mod done and have been running Nokya Yellows for more then a yr and a half with no issues.

What should I do? I don't have working stock H11 bulbs that I can test.

Sounds like you're on the right path. I've burnt out 3 nokya's in about 12 months. In fact, I have 1 burnt one now. Where are you? I can let you try my spare before I install it in my car.

The Nokya's have been really good to me actually. I've only changed one bulb once in the last year and a 1/2. Could both of them burn out at the same time.

very rarely it'll burn out at the same time but its possible. Also check the fuse to see if its blown

I once burnt out both headlights on my Z24 at exactly the same time. And they're on different circuits so it was just a coincidence.

I just tried putting OEM bulbs back in, not working. Wiring seems fine, the only way to check fuse is to go buy a new one right?

I opened the fuse box today and found my fog relay fried! I have independent fog mod done all the wires turned black and were crispy.

Not exactly sure if it's the Nokya's that caused it or wiring.

Yikes...what size wiring did you use?

18AWG , I went on M3F looked at instructions again and it says 18 AWG.

So I don't know if I should re-do it. Cause I had to get a complete new relay.

I did it with 14 I think just to be safe. I never trust smaller wiring. I haven't had any issues with mine. The bulbs "could" be drawing more power and that caused the issue.

I just read on M3F someone else encountered a similar problem but not as extreme. I was thinking of going with 16.

But the wire that taps to the steering wheel is really thin I can't even tell what it is, I want to change it but so much hassle.

That signal wire can be small. That just provides minimal power. Mine is quite small too I think. It's the rest you really need to worry about.

I added an extra inline fuse in my indie fog mod and have had no issues yet.

do a search on here...specifically regarding Lockdown. n/m, all the info is in here

They discovered that the Nokya Yellows (or any aftermarket yellow/blue/hi-output) bulb was drawing too much current for the OEM relay to handle.

I considered that I was looking at it today. But it seems too much to do and it'll be hard to go bak to stock.

I went to Crappy Tire bought a heavy duty relay, tried putting all the connections together and find that my FOG FUSE blows everytime I connect the wires to the relay.

Should I up the fuse from 15 to 20 or even 30?

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks,

Sounds like a short! 15 amp fuse should be MORE than enough for the fogs themselves.

I had the same problem - But different! My fogs wouldn't turn OFF! Turns out Water + Relay = Doom. It shorted out the relay. I cleaned it out, dried it off, and it worked fine after that.

I have had a couple of issues with this but in my case they were hid fogs. The one ballast starting drawing to much current and started popping the fuse every time youused them. I replaced the ballast and everything turned out allright
