    Default Started modding finally....

Went to see Jimmy on friday and installed my cobb sri, rkm bov kit, along with an steering column mounted Omori boost guage (guage is a beautiful quality piece btw). I'm very impressed with this combo so far and love how the intake sounds and how much faster the turbo spools. I did notice however the during an even semi-hard 1-2 shift the cooler hits the firewall. Has anyone trimmed the shroud at all to try and eliminate this problem?

Anyone have any numbers on these mods? I'm guess somewhere in the 30 hp range.

I think you would need to upgrade your engine mount. CP-E is one of the best mount out there if they weren't backordered...

I was looking at the TRZ motor mount. I've read good things about that and much cheaper then streeunit or cp-e.

I did have TRZ motor mount. Yes it is very good mount as well, but super duper hard mount. It will transfer quite a bit of vibration to the cabin, winter or summer non-stop. Then I went with CP-E. Compare to TRZ, the vibration is almost to nothing.

If you don't mind the jolt to your body, go with TRZ, if you are worry about that spend little more and go with CP-E.

What do you think of the corksport urethane inserts?

the SRI gains about 14hp and 15tq at the wheels peak, but down around 3000rpm the gains are closer to 25-30hp and similar for tq.

This is just for the sri or all the mods I listed? That seems to be ALOT if its just for the sri. Dynos?

I don't think the BOV will do too much, just hold more boost up around 5-6000rpm. I put my Forge BPV (works the exact same as BOV, just better for the engine) on a week before my CAI, which were my first two mods. Didn't feel any change with just the BPV.

I do hope you have the BOV in full recirc (or at the very least hybrid) because if it's full VTA you'll probably have problems down the road with bogging while shifting and backfiring.

They are Ok for about 2 months. But after that they lose their stiffness. I actually did try from Corksport inserts, TRZ and then CP-E. Nothing beats CP-E mount from stiffness vs vibration inside the cabin.

Yep its recirculated. How do you figure the forge is better for the engine? I personally cant stand that metal ping bypass valves make.

Haven't heard good things about the SU one. Even Jimmy was telling me they break and thought it would be good to wait for a proven one that does not break/crack.

Jimmy told me that that the SU ones tend to crack...at least that he has seen. When I asked him about downpipes too, he commented that the turbo xz one is actually quite a good piece...and he has seen cp-e ones crack before? I found this hard to beleive seeing as everyone has such an e-hard on for cp-e.

Last time i spoke w/ Jimmy he told me to stay away from the CP-E MM, as i was considering swapping my SU one. The CP-E mount hasn't been available for months now, because of problems w/ the rubber cracking.

I think I got it mixed up...I beleive it was the cp-e mount he was referring to.
