It helps the ECU learn faster. I always reset it when I mod my intake or exhaust. I also reset it when I clean my air filter.
You are right, there is nothing wrong so you don't have to reset it.

Is not here
How do you reset it ?
Either by unplugging the ECU fuse, or the (-) terminal of the battery.
Wondering where people are installing their aftermarket resinators on the MS3 system?
I installed mine last night & it's already quietened down quite a bit, but with it my daily driver I was thinking about trying to tone it down even more. I usually add in a Cherry Bomb glass pack as they are only $20, but not sure if I should remove the 1st OEM resinator & add it in there? I also removed the 2nd cat also.
cool, off to add that this weekend. Nice long resinator
I'll have my car on the lift some time in the next week or two, so I'll snap a pic for you. I'm running a vibrant ultra quiet resonator between in the center tunnel between my seconday cat and the part where the exhaust turns 90* to the drivers side.
Wondering how much quieter the exhaust gets with a resinator installed?. I picked up a 34" long cherry bomb glass pack last night that I'm going to throw in this weekend. I know that on my GTP I installed one to quieten down my Borla's & it actually made my 3.8 sound sweet & they normally sound like crap. I'm just hoping for the same results on my 3.
I had the MazdaSpeed exhaust installed on my Mazda 3 Sport GT this week.
The MS exhaust is shorter by about a foot so a flange had to be made to be installed to extend it.
Sounds great!
I am also hoping it gets a little quieter, especially in the car.
What could I do to make it quieter inside?
I am afraid it will freak out my dog.
Heads do trun to check it out though.
Thanks.
