no joke , iam getting 14L, I pass big rigs allot so I gotta speed up to 130-140 to pass them so iam guessing thats why, I get nervous when iam beside or behind them , so iam guessing thats why my gas milege is soo crap and thats with changing gears at 1900-2000 rpm
I haven't heard anything about this; but from a pure economics standpoint, I doubt it will happen. The mazda3 is already not the most frugal car in the world; it's unlikely mazda will put a rotary engine on their base model either.
There's also some history here; About thirty years ago, Mazda bet the farm on rotary engines, and darned near lost it all. I'm pretty sure they won't do that again; at least not until they're more confident in rotary technology.

There is a theory which states that a billion monkeys pounding on a billion keyboards will eventually produce the works of Shakespeare.
Thanks to the Internet, we now know this theory is wrong.
20? Closer to 30 I thought. Mid 70's and all.
But yeah, look at the fuel economy the Renesis has been getting. I doubt Mazda will try using only rotary engines again.

Thirty then... I can't add or subtract today. (</sarcastic>)
YES!!!! color 27A (velocity red mica) is back for 2010. Now, all I have to do is try to persuade my parents getting that color.
I won't have to buy another color of the touch-up pen!

Regardless of my (lack of) mathematical ability, I can't see Mazda taking that kind of risk again on their flagship products. It would be cool to have a rotary engine in the car, but I just can't see it happening.
I will say this though...If they make a rotary-engined 3, FWD or not, I'd buy it..
I get 7L/100 on my 04gt to and from work. 85% hiway
Are we still talking about the 2010 Mazda3s?
is it gonna be the same dimensions as the current mazda 3 or is it longer/shorter??
wheelbase is probably going to be the same (I think it's still the same basic underlying chassis); they might make it slightly longer to accomodate more space in the trunk.
When is the actual LA conference where all the info is going to be released?
It is this week sometime isn't it?

I don't like the new design too much... Interior seems a little nicer though.
