I don't know if any of you have had this problem, but I am usually the one with the most strangest repairs. LOL! My car was built in June of '04 and I have just surpassed 100, 000kms about 1 month ago. First my PJB (passenger junction box) went about 3 weeks ago and today, the turbine speed sensor (trany sensor). This happened when I left the job site to go home. Car was still pretty cold. As I was driving, when shifting from 1st-2nd (Auto trans) the gear engage was harsh. Like a jolt or feeling like someone rear ending me. Then it happened again from 2nd-3rd with even more of a harsh gear engage. Felt like my tranny went bang! This all happened as I was leaving the long road on my jobsite doing 20-40km/s. Engine light goes on and my AT light goes on. The AT light went away about 10mins later but the check engine light stayed on. Went to Airport ASAP and they diagnosed the failure as a sensor from outside the transmission. The part is the size of a cigarette lighter but cost about $50 bucks! With the diagnosis and re-re of the new one $200 bucks. All in all, I was a little sour that this happened but impressed by the guys at Airport Mazda as they took care of me and they know me by my first name when I go there. LOL. (all oil changes done there)
I am not impressed by the latest issue that has come forward from this car. I thought she was bulit proof. After 100,000kms and being the 1st model year, I guess you may expect this. '04 owners, be aware of this.
