Its just not the front end for me, its also right above the front tire on the fender I assume it is called. It looks like poo. In the pic that ///M guy took at the LA auto show, it looks so so so so bad.

I wonder if they will be popular, I don't think so at all unless they fix that front bumper and other little things.

the hood and mazda emblem also seems to remind me of one of these

Don't really digg the front flared out fenders either.. the front end aside from the designing seems a little too busy..

They're gonna have to make it AWD and SERIOUSLY bump up the pwr on the Speed 3 version for it to be successful. Then again, my 4 year old loves it - cause, yeah, looks like a Cars movie character...

I am told by my transit guys that some have already landed at Mazda's Compound and they tell me the pics so far do not do it justice it looks so much better in person.

Joe spotted one recently at Mazda Canada H.O. as well.

Good news.... I was not a big fan of the new model based on the web pictures but....I just got my 56,000 service in Peterborough today and they have a new 2010 demo on their lot! They let me see the car and sit in it to check it out. I must say the car is actually really nice, the only thing I do not like about it is the front bumper. They all agree as well. Everything else about the car I love even the changes to the interior. It was a 2.5L gaymatic base model, and I must say.... for a base model it was NICE! (minus the front bumper) I'm sure we'll see Mazda take care of this rather quickly based on what I've heard.

I've seen a 2010 sedan in Downtown St. Catharines one day parked by the Corbloc Building and I gotta say it wasn't as ugly as it is in pictures but I still prefer the current model much much more.

Wish I had a camera on me to snap some photos of it out in the wild.

You guys all ruined it for me by pointing out the smiling grill. That honestly is the only weird part about it. I have this irrational fear they've messed with the seats because I read they were "bigger" and that (as a short person) often means painfully uncomfortable.

Funnily enough the first thought I had when I saw the the new Mazda 3 was the "smiles" on all the cars in the movie "Cars"!

Definitely not a fan, I remember when I first saw the current generation Mazda 3 it really appealed to me.

Perhaps there is more substance than style to the next generation?

I have to agree, when I saw the first gen back in 2004 I thought WOW that looks great, different than anything in a sub compact. The 2010 didn't give me the same feeling, but will have to see it in person and maybe I will change my mind?????

^ +1.....me too back then, i was supposed to purchase the altima, but just so happen I was passing by scarborough mazda and took a peek at the mazda 3. I was just WOW, this is it! on that same day I sealed the deal, didnt bother haggling the price I was just excited in getting the car. Poor sales guy at Nissan, keep calling my cellphone and I didnt bother answering it

The 3 was then Car of Year and couple of years later made a record breaking million sales worlwide!.....now with this new gen, i highly doubt they will duplicate that feat..Mazda made their own recession in sales with this goofy design of 3!

Hey, me too! I even went so far as to rent an Altima for a week but the seats were uncomfortable for me and I like to feel the road. I had tried so many other cars & thought I'd give the Mazda 3 a try & loved it right away. I still would love the interior of the 2010 though & the new features. I think seeing it in person will make up my mind about the grill.

ahahahaha! Take this poor little Kuga home tonite! Kuga is house trained and is great with the kids...but requires frequent visits to the "vet" for extremely costly diagnoses and repairs. Also guzzles through litres of Purina Chow and never-before-seen rates!
