First time I am going there, is there one?
Can I just walk in with jeans?

when i went there i wore nice casual clothing..i just thought of it as going out for dinner
Nope... My suggestion is to be in dress pants and a nice shirt...
a lot of theatre goers will look at you and you will feel unfomfortable... Trust me it happened.
I think these theatres are traditional...

It also depends on the time of the show, ie a matinee or evening. Matinee, maybe, evening... wouldn't. Musical / play, gotta show some class.
When I took my mom to see Sound of Music we both dressed above casual. I wore dark dress pants with the blazer. But this was in January so I also had my white Colombia jacket...

It will be evening show tomorrow night.
I guess I will be dressing up.
When I go see musicals or any live performance (excluding concerts), I would wear business casual (so dress pants/khakis and a nice sweater/dress shirt). I think it's respectful to dress up in that manner to see a show.
I know that when people are wearing the jeans and a hoodie (to be extreme) will get looked at and perhaps secretly commented on how disrespectful they are.
I agree with RJ3. Theatres are traditional, so give them the respect they deserve.
yeah I frequent theatres and orchestras a bit.
I usually go with a suit just cuz I'm comfortable with it and sometimes with a tie. it is more of a respect thing than mandatory dress code, and being a big fan of performers, I give them my full respect.
on the side note, ppl usually go in jeans on broadway lol...i think its almost a "norm" to watch a broadway show after dinner every night.
Wear track pants and a sweatshirt No seriously, dress like your going on a first date with a supermodel and it depends on how your dressed whether you will get some!
There is really no dress code rule when going to the Musical Theatre...
But it would be nice if you dress up abit and don't go in with shorts and T-shirt and flip flops...
Even though you could
Nothing but class.
