    Default Interior Lights Mod

I was taking a break in the back of my friends Ford Explorer one night at work and I really liked how the door interior design. They had 2 big red lights in the bottem corner of the door that would stay on while parked, which gave a cool visual for anyone sitting in the back seat.

I wanted to do a similar thing with my 3's interior, but have red lights mounted in the driver/passenger foot well and have those lights spliced into the door entry lights or even have them wired via flip switch. Would it be as better to splice into an existing 12v wire, feeding another interior light, or running a whole new circuit through fuse box ?

I've picked up all the wiring and the lights themselves from princess auto, wanted to possible get it done this week while I have some off time.

    any suggestions?

    Awesome, thanks for the link.

Question tho, if I tap the power source indicated, it will activate only when my interior (dashboard lights) are switched on or when the doors are unlocked and doors opened ?

I plan on running the new lights through a switch, so I can have them on whenever, as long as the source I tap is +12 constant right ?

They will only go on when the doors unlock and opened. If you want them on all the time you have to find a constant +12V source.

Anyone know where I can buy a switch that will fit into the drivers side switch compartment (beside steering wheel) ?

Ok, finally installed my non-oem footwell lights. Talk about a timely mod, man took almost 5 hours, but it was a good time none the less, with a beer or 2. I had the whole interior exposed, panels off and everywhere, lol.

Here's a couple pics of the install :

Car has a nice new feeling while driving at night now. My only concern now is...Whats next !?
