so you have installed an HID kit, bulbs, ballastas and relays and so on. only thing i can think they might be too hot, but again its all guess work with out a picture.

I dont see anything wrong. Just wait to see if it gets worse. Or if the dealer there will replace them then go for it.

now i see it. yea not the same as the gt lights frosting. almost looks like it was moisture that has dried up and left a mark.

Okay I have gone through most of the thread and it doesn't appear that anyone has identified the problem. I have a neighbour with a 2010 that has the headlight problem and he showed me what Mazda did and it looks like they installed ceramic resistors inline (see orange block in picture) to take part of the load. They replaced one headlight assembly already but the other one is now "fogged". I am curious if this problem has been rectified with my 2012? Can anyone confirm?

Here is the lense that needs to be replaced now.

^ If you have read thru my past complaints in this thread, I had the same issue many times (on two different sides) and the latest swap was to have fix this issue completely. Anyway, I have no more warranty, if this happens again ... I would be totally pissed.

the headlight assembly was changed for design and added vents to prevent the issue i do believe. so on vehicles 2011 + shouldnt have any issues at all. hard to say 100% with vehicles that have had the lamps replaced as i would hope they have the new design but it would be hard to say so.

IMO they have to warranty the work they did. Put it this way if your engine blew up 1 day before the warranty expired and they fixed it the next day and you drove off the lot and it blew up again it would still be covered for X amount of days. They couldn't in good faith say "sorry, your warranty expired yesterday..."

It amazes me how many people simply take "no" for an answer and just walk away.

The easiest way to determine if they changed the headlight assembly is to check the part numbers perhaps of the various years to see if they changed numbers?

If I were to open the lens, would I be able clean it from the inside? Would the film come off or is the lens permanently damaged?

Permanently damaged its the head light housing not the only lens. Dealership replaced my lens twice. I had to argue with them to replace the whole house headlight (cuz i had CS LED DRLs) they did no issues now.
