Default Schedule Maintenance: Schedule 1 & Schedule 2...difference?

    Just picked up my 2010

In the owner's manual they have a Schedule 1 (every 6 months) & Schedule 2 (every 4 months) maintenance. What's the difference and which one do I follow?

    For example:
    Schedule 1 - 1st Maintenance is 6 months 12,000km (oil + filter change).
    and
    Schedule 2 - 1st Maintenance is 4 months 8000km (oil + filter change).

Is schedule 1 the recommended "poor man" maintenance schedule?

Schedule 2 is what would be done for Canadian climate. As far as I know Schedule 1 would only be performed in a warmer climate like Florida/Arizona?

schedule 1 is if you drove like grandma, often... ZERO traffic, ZERO extended idling, smooth/gradual accelerations, etc... NEVER going to happen to 99% of people

everyone should be following schedule 2 regardless of where on the continent you live in
