Post Opinion: Silver Start H7 light bulbs

    Hello guys,

i'm new here at the forum, but let's talk about my post.

Yesterday, i bought new light bulbs from the SilverStar brand the model is H7, the one for Mazda 3 Hatch.

I don't wanted to buy real Xenon light bulbs for the moment, because i'm doing already a lot of modifications on the roof and front, putting the black vinyl on my Mazda, so for reasons of budget i decided to but the normal high lightening bulbs.

I want to know if some already bought it and installed at their Mazda's or heard something about them before, and what's the result?

    Thank you!

    Vlad.

Not worth it IMO. You'll run through two sets in a year, at that price a cheap set of hid's will run $120 and have at least a one year warranty.

You'll not get much of a difference in light output.

If your wallet is really that tight.. wait it out and save for the xenons.

I had used the Silverstar bulbs on my Previa a couple years ago and like KenYork said they burned out in less than a year. I don't really remember if there was a significant improvement in brightness so more than likely it was only a bit better than stock.

when I put silverstars on my other car, the light output was even worse than stock, yeah it's whiter but that's it, can't see nothing. burns out really fast! if budget is the problem, just save up and wait. then get HIDs

If you dont want to go HID's, grab a set of Xenon Superwhites.

I bought them for my protege at $15 for the pair. They were bright white (with a tint of blue) but nothing compared to HID's. There are a few sponsors who can get a set for you Im sure. I ran them for over a year and never had a bulb go out.

As for the silverstars, I personally have never run with them as the feedback I got from them was horrific.

Why buy online when we have sponsors that sell with great local warranty.

I have Silverstars and they are OK and they also guarantee them for a year. I keep my bill and return them for a new bulb when they burn out.

With the price of HID bulbs now-adays, it would be silly to go with the short-lived Silverstars.

Whatever you do, just make sure you wear gloves while swapping whichever bulbs you end up getting, and to avoid getting any sort of contamination on them. Wipe them down with an alcohol wipe if you do--or else they'll burn out exponentially quicker.

Yeah did it last night, i bought the bulbs from silverstar and tryed them, they are whiter than my ones right now, but it does not give me the same looking as Xenon ones, so at this point i will leave the bulbs, and i will put them into the Fog lights, then i will buy the Real Xenon bulbs with the Balasts and intall them.

The price of the Xenon kit it cost me 68$ + 9$ of shipping from China, from the manufacturer.

The density of the lights is 6000 K ...

    Thank you all!
