Default Alarm going off for no reason?

Anyone have issues with the alarm going off for no reason? My car's alarm has gone off 2 times last night, so i thought someone wanted to get in. Nope, this morning, it went off again for no reason. It can't be the wind causing this. I tried rocking the car to set it off, nothing happened. My car is completely stock, no aftermarket electrical of any kind.

    Any ideas?

Is it going of normal or one consistent tone?

Your car is trying to communicate with you lol. But yea, this happened to me also when I was down in Montreal, I just reset the ecu. Never alarmed by itself anymore, not sure if it fixes the issue but it did for me.

Do you have a mazda remote start? Did you have a shock sensor installed with mazda at any time?

Only thing I had done was the Door recall that strengthened the door. Was a shock sensor part of that too, because if it was, I was never able to trip it by rocking the car.

Strange, I think i'll just unplug the battery and have it reset to see if it fixes the issue.

There were times when they did install them for some people when that recall was done. If it hasn't done this before I wouldn't assume it's the shock sensor if you "do" have one.

It's the factory alarm correct? I have the compustar, last year my hood pin corroded causing my alarm to go off.

Yup, factory alarm. I disconnected the battery and reset the ECU. Hopefully it won't go off tonight.

Can a weak battery cause these types of oddities? (not sure if mine is weak or not) I'm still running on the original one and its my next thing to do with the car.

disconnecting/reconnecting the battery wouldn't cause the stock alarm to go off if that's what you're asking

however, if the shock sensor (part of recall) or the remote start's (mazda one) shock sensor is flaking out, then it could be doing this

Welp, resetting the ECU didnt work, car went off 4 times yesterday, no shock sensor either.(i checked my invoice with the door recall) Does anyone know how to disable the alarm? I checked the fuses thinking i can just pull the alarm fuse, but that slot was empty to begin with. Ah well, I think i'll have to bring it in.

Can anyone recommend a place that can diagnose this? Or does anyone know how to disable it? I just need to be able to lock the doors and not worry about it going off in the middle of the night.

Im not worried about it getting broken into, the thing probably wouldnt even go off anyways!

So, was the problem ever solved. My son left his 2005 Mazda3 with me when he went away and the alarm is going off 2 to 3 times a day.

Does your sons car have the stock alarm or an aftermarket alarm?

Exclamation Re: Alarm going off for no reason?

    Help!

Anyone figure this out? Mine started going off on it's own as well.
Worried my neighbours will soon take a shotgun to the car.

It's started last week and can't figure out what's causing it.

I've got the '04 GT GFX sedan, completely stock, I don't even think I have the shock sensor unless it already came with the alarm.

Does anyone know how to disable the alarm in the meantime??

    Thanks!
    Ray

Just to give an update: I never figured it out but once I changed the battery, it never happened again ?!?!?!? strange indeed.

Thanks for the update... I wonder if it's as simple as that.

Not the key fob battery, the car battery.

Still having trouble with this, haven't had a chance to change out the car battery yet though.

Does anyone know how to disable the alarm? i'm worried it's going to drive my neighbours nuts.

And someone please remind me, when I lock the car key fob or not, does the alarm automatically arm itself??
or is that only when i press the keyfob the second time?

Is there a way to lock the car without the being alarm set/armed?
