I just ordered a GX Sport with cruise control and it should be in town next week. Will it have the audio controls come with it or would I have to ask for that separate?
You state you have cruise so YES you will have audio controls. The cruise used to or still is idk the additional option. On the gx base previous gen you were able to get no controls at all
1991 Nissan Pathfinder - trade in, 2005 Mazda 3 GX ty grey - Write off, 2010 Mazda 3 GT E sedan CWP- trade in, 2010 Speed 3 w/tech CWP - Up for sale (soon), 2007 Mazda 3 GS silver- motor swapped in to 2009 MS3 CWP that had blown engine, 2002 BMW 330ci silver- new winter ride, 2005 BMW M3- new toy
I just got a 2010 GX Sport, added the cruise during car purchase.
From what I remember, it costs about $480, and their cost is about $350.. plus tax too i think
Cruise comes with audio controls as well on the wheel
Does the package come with Bluetooth? or just simple volume controls?
Relating to this question, can cruise control be added to a 07 GX? Would the cost be roughly the same?
Thanks
Thanks Flip! I may pm you next time im down in Toronto!

Damn you photobucket.....
For those people who want to buy the kit and install it themselves, the cruise has to be activated with programing from the dealer, Dan installed mine yesterday and we found it out, unlike the previous generation in which it was plug and play.
Please post deatails! So you added the switches and the brake pedal sensor, then went to the dealer for programming? Can you post more about the programming procedure please?
So they can get to it through the OBD port to program it? Are they just turning the feature on? Is there a cruise control light in the cluster? I am trying to add cruise and a GT steering wheel and my service tech is unaware of this. I have not yet asked the Master Tech at my local dealer about it.

Yes the steering wheel has to be removed so the control module can be added, then the brake sensor added. Programing can done through th obd port, that's what the instructions say. I am in contact with the dealership on the programing, I will keep you advised on how it went
Well here's an update, i contacted flipdaddy because i bought the kit from Mazda of Toronto, he was really great and told me to bring it in and they would activate it for me free of charge, they did but the steering wheel audio controls don't work, i was a little disappointed because i thought both the audio controls and the cruise controls would work but but i guess they don't work on the GX, becuase when i asked the service advisor he said that the cruise is the only thing needed to be activated not the audio. and Dan did an excellent work on the install. so i am a little confused
So to add the cruise control kit to the GX involves dismantling the steering wheel? I'm not so sure I'd want to have this done. I was just at a Hyundai dealer tonight and we talked about add-ons. He said to avoid taking any options that involve dismantling too many parts. He said that mechanics never put parts back the way they were installed from the manufacturer and that you'll start to hear creaks.
audio controls have to work as well, i had my cruise control added to my '10 gx sport, and the steering wheel audio controls work just fine. you might want to look into it more.
not true, because if we didnt put stuff back together properly then you would be abele to see that something is not right and you would be back to have it fixed.
i am pretty positive i know the problem on Devindas car. The car has 2 wiring harness adapters installed and i beleive the 1 does not have wiring for the wheel controls present.
The install was pretty much straight forward I saw Dan do it, the cruise works great but like Dan said I have 2 harness's , one for my aftermarket blue tooth another for my amp. I need a aftermarket steering wheel control adapter for the audio controls to work. If you have not done any mods to your stereo then the audio controls will work right after the install. Otherwise the car works great after the install, just a heads up for those who want to purchase the Mazda cruise control kit
Good to hear. So I won't worry about the installation.
