This is pretty much the finished product, I just don't have the grate over the subs at the moment but I picked some up from Lowes today and the carpet needs to be trimmed a little:



The side pocket is just a little storage cubby I made, threw a hinge on there and I keep my jumper cables and tire iron and crap in there.

It's a sealed enclosure, there is a piece of 5/8" MDF separating the two chambers each with about 1.4 cu ft which is on the higher end for these subs. I had them in a ported box and they hit just as hard. I'm really pleased with the sound to be honest.

Oh and I also need to relocate my amp, I ran out of 4g wire for the ground so I cut a foot off my power wire for now so I will likely end up mounting it under the rear seat.

Holy jesus that does look awesome. I don't know if I could make a shallow mount. But then again I don't want to give up the HO box to make it look like that. I actually bought a carpet for the trunk from a Mazda3 at the wreckers to put on top of my MDF wood like how its setup now . I'm actually considering a way to use the carpet to hide the wires completely. But now I'm also looking at selling my 10W7 and JBL amp for a 13W7 with a 1000/1 JL slash amp (the matching amp for the 300/2 I have in there for the speakers). What sucks is to take it apart takes a lot longer then before. But its going to be worth it.

Well @Default User get started bro . You know you wannnna haha. The thing I've found about car audio is once you start you really don't wanna stop. Just the feeling you get when the bass drops is amazing all on its own.

You can always try your luck with a fibreglass box - that's what I used. You can match the contours of your trunk a little better which may free up the space. You can also put your amp underneath your carpet - I cut the little Styrofoam piece thats below the carpet to fit my amp. Be warned that fibreglass makes your car stink A LOT.

And those are Alpine Type R's powered by a JL Xd600/1 which is awesome. Compact amp at 8-9/16"W x 2"H x 7-1/8"D that packs a punch!

I've thought about that too. I might consider something like that during the winter when I take the 10W7 out and throw some piece of shit setup in. Got a few ideas rolling around my head for next years setup. I'm not too worried about trunk space though. I don't need it really lol. I like how its setup just because then my trunk doesn't get full of shit all the time. There is nothing in there except stereo equipment. The stink I'm not really too worried. When I sprayed the whole trunk with 6 cans of Rocker Guard (rubberized spray) it stunk up my car for 3 weeks lol. Still can kind of smell it.

As for the amp that is awesome. That is 600 rms PURE. And for those 2 12"s gives it a perfect amount of sound. I wanna hear it lol. And see it.

Just keep the 10w7 and swap the amp. keep an eye on ebay. i got my 1000/1 5 years ago on ebay for cheap. dont really care if it fell off a truck since theyll probably never find it here haha. still runs to this day with no issues at all and i love it. what are you looking to spend on the amp?

Spent 4+ hours detailing the truck yesterday, only to drive down a road this morning that was having pot holes repaved, so there was huge piles of ashphalt sitting in the middle of the road.

Last pile I spread back on the road for them, rwd ftw.

I've thought about that too. I love the look of the red eye box. Looks awesome. And I'm looking to spend somewhere between 4-500 area. Which isn't difficult I know. But man I love the sound that the 13W7 makes. The 10W7 is fantastic and I cannot believe its just a 10 but hearing the 13W7 makes me want one haha.

This one I will be picking up at some point from a guy at work and he's going to take my JBL amp. Then pick up the 13W7 from him and bam spring time is good to go haha. I got a JL 300/2 running the doors. Its the matching one to the amp I just posted. And thing runs my speakers beautifully.

haha i dont think so, my broadway is useless with mine LOL.

Maybe some type of bracket to the windshield, but they will be shaking too

Well that's stupid. It never use to but now it seems loose. Maybe warranty then. I can't drive looking down at my seat as that's all I see out of the mirror
