Another Newbie in the East end

I 've been lurking around here hardcore for the last couple days. I'll be picking up my 06 GTSport from Ajax Mazda tomorrow or Friday (Yay!) I'm a Dubber, and have owned 3 in the last 10yrs I know VR6 inside and out. Lemmie say this will be hard goin' from a VERY torquey 2.8 6cyl to the 2.3/4. I decided to leave that brand as I don't like where the design is going + need something reliable. So after a long hunt I finally got out last Wed, I stopped at Whitby Mazda first, parked my beast right in front the window, walked the 06's 3's and 6s on the lot for 10mins. no one came out.. losers. ended up at Ajax, drove a burgundy-ish GT, felt right and the door had enough "thunk" LOL... I was worried the 3 was a popcan, that it is NOT.
So a Titianium 06 GT was sittin' there mounted on GY Eagle GT brand new, I asked, the price was less with 133,000kms and it had literally just come in that morning. Since I hadn't decided, the rep asked if I wanted to take it home... I did on the friday and loved it.
so here I am. I'm in the North 'shwa, east if UOIT, or P'Oshawa as I've heard last year.
I don't find the search works well. I type in CAI and it finds nothing, and I KNOW that's just not true. I've already memorized the HID install. I'm purging my VW junk outta my garage, so I'll hopefully be doin' that by summer (as long as the wife doesn't' find out ;-D ) 100bucks? hell'yah. I'll also have to spray the belly with bedliner... not doin' the $700 dealerspray.
Is there anything major I need to know about the 3's? ie: when the timing belt needs to be done? My VR uses dual chains, so even though she's at 310,000kms, I've never worried about it. Oh and how far are you all gettin' on a full tank. I work downtown, so 21 days of the month and do 165 round trip. I'm hoping to get 5 days of drive on a tank. so about 700kms?
