    Smile Will these rims fit!!!

    Hello everyone,
I've been reading threads on this forum for a while now and have finally got around to joining! Glad to finally be able to comment on questions

Speaking of which, i have a question which i think i know the answer to but would love some public advice since i'm by no means an expert.

I recently came across a beautiful set of MSR 17x7 rims with a +35mm offset. My car is a 04' 2.3L Hatch with an Eibach ProKit installed. The conservative side of me has a strong feeling that they won't fit due to the offset and the slight drop on the car. I don't want to bother with these rims if i have to put in the trouble of rolling the fenders. The impulsive side of me wants to buy them and see what happens.

Just curious if anyone has tried a similar set up or know of a tire size that could pair up with these rims to make them fit. Any comments would be great!

    nope.
like you said, offset is too low, and so are you haha
plus, if they're anything like the MSR wheels i had, they're junk. really heavy, and pretty cheap.

Search m3f, there are guys running low offsets there who can give you good info. Not too many folks here run really low offset. I think you'll find the most common low offset here is about 17x7 +40.

BTW if you're going to run +35 you should consider a wider rim.

You can use spacers to increase the wheel offset. Someone is selling a two-wheel set in the For Sale section:

The wheels still need to have the correct bolt pattern (5x 114.3)

adding spacers will lower the off set.
if the wheels are +35, and the spacers are say....20mm thick, you're not at +15....

Whoops.... I should know better than to try to do geometry when I am half asleep. Yep, adding the spacer pushes the wheel out, which reduces the offset.....

Thanks for the replies everyone! I knew they wouldn't fit but they just look soooo damn good! Hard to ignore the side of the brain that gets impressed by new toys! The guy selling them told me they would fit with spacers as well but i think he was thinking backwards too haha. Here's a pic of the rims if anyone is into the darker touring car look:

With rolled fenders you could probably run those wheels, but they would poke some... probably not look very good.

^^ Not at 7 inches wide it won't. 8.5 or 9 wide it would look okay.

Won't look good or won't poke?

I'm going 7" wide +38 on sportlines soon, until I find my next set of kicks.

I think with your example....you will end up at +15 lol

    + 35 - 20 = +15 offset

higher number offset the farther in the wheel goes lol

I was saying it won't look very good, but that's my style! For me +35/+38 at 7 inches wide will look fine of you're looking at a profile shot of the car, or straight down from above the car. But at bumper level, or say on the road from 100 ft back, I think it (IMO) looks odd to have narrow wheels sticking out. For me, poke is cool it you're rocking wide rims; something wrapped with 235 tire or larger.
