How do I remove the radio antenna from an 08.5?

Does anyone know how to remove the radio antenna from an 08.5? I tried unscrewing it but it didn't seem like it wanted to budge.

Thought I'd ask the question here before I ended up breaking anything.

if u mean the horsewhip antenna yes you just unscrew it, might just be stuck, try putting a little effort into it.

The 08.5 and later no longer have the horsewhip antenna. They have a stubby with a different base unit that has the Sirius antenna built in, which is why I think it might be different.

I have an 09 and it came with the horsewhip. Those with the lux package will have the stubby with the sirius antenna base.

Should still be unscrew. I have the stubby and it's the same as the horsewhip. 08.5 GT with stubby is what my car came with. I never use sat. radio so not sure if the base is that or not but it's still unscrew it.

I had the same problem taking mine off in my 06. It didn't want to come off at first because I was twisting the base, then I realized that I need to twist the actual fishing rod antenna out of the base. Once I did that, I had no other problems installing my stubby
