MS3 May 8, 2010 Dyno Day @ APH

It was actually a great turn out considering the weather. Thanks to everyone who came out and it was nice to have met all the new faces (for myself).

The dyno is unadjusted...they are at the default Dyna-Pack settings, versus what normally would be about another 10 - 15% more on a Dyno-Jet. The numbers are particularly relevant when compared to others on the same day with similar mods, who will post up their own numbers. I have learned a lot from everyone who came out, as well from SSmoked's Cobalt SS...to say it's under-rated from the factory is an understatment! Nice ride bro!

Many thanks to Brian and his crew @ Advanced Power House for accomodating a bunch of power junkies for the whole afternoon. I will let all the pics speak for themselves....and I'm sure there will be a lot more to come:

holy shit, it was an amazing day ( shitty weather ). fobio had the best number all around and to me the biggest surprise was weatherb's uhmmmm "stock" car. It put down like 1 - 2 hp more then me and I thought my modes would be good for atleast 260 -270. dame u weatherb, ur hiding something other then the cobb under ur hood ( shaking fist ) It was great to finally meet everyone and sorry to horto as i thought u were an asian guy when i was driving behind u lol. Oh my numbers 256hp and 313ft/lbs torque........ Ap or coilovers ummmmm.

What a great day. i enjoyed ever bit of it. got to meet a bunch of new guys that have some real serioues machines. all the cars were exicting to watch as every bit was very different in terms of mods, however everyone was rocking a Access Port.
fobio's turbo manifold glowing red was wicked to watch. some big numbers were seen today. i cant wait to dyno again once im all tuned up.
here are my bone stock numbers for my Cobalt SS/TC. i got find a tune to get rid of that bad hp drop after 5500.

Definitely an awesome turnout despite the weather. Eventhough lotsa cars were dyno'd, I was still anxious to see more . Just the sound of every car pulls was just a music to my ear, I love it ....gotta bring my video cam next time.

Thanks Vincent for setting this one up...very well worth it and Optiklenz for the awesome pics. Learned a lot from everybody and I have no doubt in my mind that the cobb ap is the next thing on my list.

It was nice meeting everyone, we gotta do this again.

All runs had that monster fan blowing air.
Green line was with the 2nd run with hood open and heat soak (BAT was 181F at 5900rpm)
Blue and red lines are with the hood closed (BAT was 156F at 5900rpm)

Nice numbers guys! Hoped to join you guys, but just got back from vacation and the wife wasn't entertaining the idea :/ (Although she did impress me when I told her I was dropping by APH for the dyno day: "Why? You uninstalled your down pipe..." I guess she does listen!)

Did APH recalibrate the gear ratios for the Cobalt? If so, great numbers...

im pretty sure he did, he was holding it in 4th gear for a while, while doing somthing on the computer. i assume it was being recalibrated.
also my vacuum numbers are off because the dyno guy couldnt find the best line to run i guess the vacuum sensor. he said it wouldnt read right.

They would have to since the DynaPack would need it for the power & torque calculations.

I'd call the 3.26 "hub ratio" as the output shaft ratio in 4th gear on the SS/TC is 3.40 (0.89 4th gear ratio X 3.82 final gear ratio).
