Default New speed 3 owner! Curious about Mods!

So i just signed the papers today on a 2010 Speed 3. Very excited to pick it up Wednesday. Just wondering what would be the best mods to start with to get a little extra HP/Torque. Im looking for best bang for my buck for starters and also curious if modifications will have any effect on my warrantee.

    Thanks for your time.

Sticky tires. Stainless brakelines / racing brake fluid. Short shifter/shift plate. Handle better, stop faster; then build power. That's my formula for all cars.

Definitely consider a short shift kit/plate; TWM or JBarone are the ones you need to check out.

Like others have said, I would also suggest getting a short shifter. Shifting will be more fun when it's so much easier.

I think the only company that makes a compatible tuning solution right now is CP-e and their standback. Not really chipping it, more like piggy-backing another computer on top of the ECU. Not worth it until you seriously mod it.

Check out Next Mod and CTA Motorsports, both are sponsors on this board.

You can get a custom tune delivered as a reflash.

Depending on how much time/effort you want to spend, get a Cobb AccessPort. Probably the best bang for your buck as far as a tune goes, although you will have to do some work to really get the peak performance (A/F Ratios, etc.).

There are so many mods for these cars, it's best to read, read, read and figure out which direction you want to go in. www.mazdaspeedforums.org and mazda3forums.com are good places to start. With such a new car, you may want to be modest with your mods to protect your warranty.

Not that I know of. It says the first 3 gears, I thought it was the first 2. Trust me, it's a good thing or the steering wheel will break your wrists lol. Especially when you start adding more power.... my car wants to zig zag all over the place when I punch it in 2nd/3rd.
