Engine light just came on =(

Today in the morning I started my car and the engine light.

I just installed a magnaflow exhaust two days ago I was wondering if that is the problem?

Should I go check with a mech?

Did you reset your ECU (pull the battery neg terminal) after the install?

Installing a muffler is not going to make the check engine light come on

It changes the back pressure and people have been getting CELs after CBE installs.

Yes i did reset my ECU...Ill probably would drop by and see if jimmy can check it out for me...checking should be free right?

Did you touch the O2 sensor?

What and where is the O2 sensor? I didnt touch anything except battery

There is a sensor on the header/first cat. Usually you don't need to touch it when installing just a CBE.

so i went to jimmy today and he said it was the fuel cap is not tight..but I checked and it was ...so didnt know what was wrong, so he turn the light off and told me if it comes back on i should go back for more tests..

If the it comes back on then you might need to have a smoke test done to find where it's leaking
