Hello,
I bought my first new car ever. I've driven a Chevette, a Neon, a Dodge Caravan and an Eagle Vision. Eagle had a leak in the pipe for the coolant. Would have been a pretty cheap fix, but there were other things about to go wrong so we decided to go shopping.
Dealership experience
http://www.angevaaremazda.com is where we bought it since we're from Millbrook. Got a bit knocked off the price, but was made to feel like this was something they never do and the profit on the car was reduced greatly. That's pretty much typical, but what got me was the trade in for my Eagle. I didn't have the car with me since it was at the shop being checked out still. I knew it was on its last legs and made that pretty clear. Ford had a deal going on for 72 months 0% and would have given me $1000 for my car as long as it was drivable. Mazda salesman kept saying $1000 would probably be fine and kept crunching it in the numbers as a trade in. Right at the very end when we decided to buy it, he pulled the $1000 and said we'd have to deal with the trade in seperate since he needs to see the car. We should have came back the next day with the car and finalized everything. On good faith (), we signed and bought the car. (It's be ready for Mon and I need a car since I live out of town from my work)
I brought the car in the next day. They called me later and said $200 was the best they could do. My wife called because I was busy at work and tried to get them to throw in something like the auto dimming mirror... floor mats... heck, even a hat.... they wouldn't budge. Just got the sorry line.
Anywho... lesson learned. Good faith doesn't exist anymore. Sign on the dotted line and everything goes out the window.
The Car
My wife can't drive a standard, but I convinced her to learn. We test drove the GS without the comfort package. 6 speed. I haven't driven a standard in a long time so I was a bit rusty. Was fun until we got off the highway. It was rush hour (for Ptbo anyways). Had to wait for 4 lights before I got through it. That freaked my wife out and she wanted an automatic. We went back and took the automatic for a spin. It was very peppy. Loved it. The auto stick (or whatever it's called) was also sweet. My Vision had the same thing. It's fun.
We wanted the blue mica when we looked online, but decided with the graphite mica when we saw them on the lot. We bought the GS, got automatic and got the comfort package. Hard to give up the moonroof once you've had one.
I get the car Mon after work. I can't wait! Zoom Zoom!
