TASR 2010 - July 11, 2010 - Details & Roll Call

For those who are knew to the club, TASR=Tuners Against Street Racing. The event is one I try and support every year possible. I am, and I think most others on this forum are car enthusiasts, and not street racers. Events such as this one, are trying to battle the image, that younger people in modified cars, are street racers.
As well, this event supports a great charity, Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Peel Region.
In 2008, TM3 Rolled in with 10 cars, and to show team unity everyone rocked a custom club banner/decal, which the club covered the costs for all attendees. Everyone had a great time, see event wrap up here:http://www.torontomazda3.ca/forum/sh...-2008-pictures.

In 2009, TM3 rolled in with 25 cars, to help encourage attendance and team unity, the club provided all TM3 attendees with custom Tshirts. Our club, Torontomazda3 took home the best team award!

Now it is time to begin the drive for 2010. The event itself is being held at JRP - 2344 Soth Sheridan Way, Mississauga.
Local Roll Calls to be set up closer to the event.

With a combination of old and new members, I really hope we can exceed our turnout from last year.

In terms of team unity, and apparel...I am sure something can be done..precisely what will be a surprise...

I'm in the same boat. I'll be going to IMPORT EXPO as the quality of the show itself should be better.


As well....I didn't have the priviledge of going to TASR before, but from the pictures (and comments from some of the members), the show has been going down hill in terms of attendence. I know it's a charity event, but I heard the attendence was down 25%-30% from the previous year.
Those who went last year said TM3 accounted for over 1/3 of the attendence.

Every show has it's up years and down years. The organizers need to step up and build the event with multiple clubs new and old. This year, I have the impression I get is TASR will be back strong. As for import expo, the event with it's I heart Honda affiliation, seems to be focused heavily on one brand. I prefer seeing things from a cross spectrum. As an example, at TASR 2008, saw someone with a hand restored vintage VW Beetle from the late 70's.

the show itself is held at JRP, which is QEW & Winston Churchill area. East Side pre-meet likely at leslie & highway 7, with a large group pre-meet to coordinate roll in, likely at Sheridan Centre.

yeah Ami is completely right Steve! Last year I went to it with a smashed up trunk and I had a great time. Everyone was really supportive.
