    Default Paint problems

Does anyone find that the paint on their Mazda chips really easily? I have owned several mazdas but the paint on my 09 MS3 seems to chip so easily, not even on dirt roads but it seems like every time I wash it there is another chip in the hood.

Welcome to Mazda paint! I did some research a while back, and from what I gather Mazda has one of the most eco-friendly plants, now by what they mean 'eco-friendly' is beyond me however, with that being said I can only deduce that being eco-friendly means NOT wear and tear friendly. I mean I have used eco-friendly cleaners and they do jack shit...used a regular "non-eco-friendly" cleaner and hey that shit got the crap right out. So go figure...eco-friendly paint is probably not wear and tear friendly.

my buddy who used to detail cars at Ziebart always said Mazdas are the worst for paint...

Got about 15+ stone chips on my hood and front bumper. Kinda annoying that everytime I have to clean my car, I have to have the touch up paint handy.

Yeah my Speed 2010 is the same detail car and last step is touch up paint! to pay extra for CWP and still have shit paint is real B.S Ford has white platinum paint and it has tri-coat clear, there is even u-tube video with rocks being launched at side and not one chip to the metal or even to paint just clear coat! $300 paint for white platinum and it's exact same colour as Mazda's CWP! Total crap I have a Ford Flex white suede and it's 10mths older and seen more highway and I can count chips on one hand and I do not even have a touch up pen for it!! White suede is normal 1 layer clear and paint only white platinum and candy red have tric-coat technology! P.S pull your dipstick on your oil says FO.MO.CO so they share parts not paint or technology??

How bad is the paint - Well my CWP had 2 paints chips already when I picked it up from the dealership!. Noticed a few more up front since then and I'm only at 5000km.

Dealership said they'd fix it up but I more concerned they would make things worse.

My 2007 CWP Speed3 is peppered with chips all over the front of the hood ...even a couple on the roof! I even had a pressure washer take two strips of paint off the front bumper ...pretty awesome!

This was something I was warned about and prepared for when buying my new M3 and installed the 3M ClearBra (full bumper wrap, 16" hood protection, back of mirrors) and I can see where stones have winged off the bumper but at least the paint is still intact!

What did that set you back and is all painted surface on front bumper covered by 3M clearBra?

Came to just under a grand with tax and install. Well worth it imo for total front coverage. All painted surface on the bumper is covered, cut out around the emblem, fogs and grill. fenders wrapped 16" as well.

I bought my car 2 weeks ago and the hood is riddled with stone chips already. Wow, does it ever suck living mid-country and doing a lot of highway driving.

What would be the best thing for my paint chips? I was about to wash my car and the hood is horrible. Should I buy some touch-up paint (the stick) and after I am done doing that, just buy the 3M clear bra etc.

What's included in the "front end"? Bumper, Hood, Fenders?

    Hi folks,
Have a problem with the clearcoat coming off my 2007 Mazda GT. In certain spots (ie: bottom rear corner of rear passenger and driver doors and a chunk on the roof and a few other places) it is peeling/flaking off in little circles. Sure the cosmetic part is annoying, but I was just wondering if it is totally going to compromise the paint and if so, what can I do to fix it ? Clear coat can't be done in small chunks I don't think.
