Proud New Mazda3 Owner!

Spent a couple months shopping for cars in the price range of $11,000 - $13,000. Most of the time I was pretty set on getting a 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer but decided to test drive a local 2006 Mazda 3 here in town and fell in love with it. It is just the GS model so it is has 10 less HP than the Mitsu but rides nice and I like the fact it has the timing chain, not belt. Plus the interior and styling was much nicer in my opinion.

It is Graphite Grey with spoiler and sunroof. Can't wait to pick it up on Friday!

Some of the first things I plan on doing;
double DIN head unit with GPS, I will also be transferring my amp and sub from my previous car. Possibly buying some new speakers for the interior.
Stubby Antenna
Nice new rims
LED Tail lights
and possibly a body kit after awhile.

Any advice on upgrading it or general tips for the car are appreciated. This forums is an awesome spot to gather information!

- Bring it to Krown for rustproof
- (clearbra, mudflaps) depending on how much you care about not getting paint chips
- Check those tires, see how much tread is left, are they all the same type of tire?
- Good set of all weather floormats (Weathertech)

will look into the rust proofing. It came with some mudflaps, the tires are all brand new and I believe I even lucked out with some all weather floormats too.

FYI. No one mentioned this, but it is a must to get winter tires with these cars. They tend to slip easily in the snow, and my car was totaled after slipping at minor snowy conditions.

Thanks man, I have usually just stuck with all-seasons for the winter but I will look into getting some good winter tires this season if need be.
