    Default "smoked" chrome badges?

Hey, I've got a CWP hatch GS and I'm trying to find a way to "smoke" my chrome badges. I want them to look plated still, but a black or smoked chrome instead of the normal "white" chrome.

Has anyone done this? I'm thinking there may be a tinted clearcoat I could spray them with.

    Any help?

There's only two ways I could think of doing this.

The first way is to buy that spray on VHT tint from Canadian tire and just use an adhesion promoter

The second way would be to order some of that anodizing paint online, I think it's called metalcast or something and also spray first with an adhesion promoter. I believe it's at some Canadian tires but definitely not all of them

There's a thread on M3F about painting badges, and there at least a couple that did the smoked look.......
