Thanks a lot for this info. I will look into Krown or RustCheck. Not sure it's here in the States but will check. Still afraid it might void my warranty. Anyone know anything about that?

OK, just checked and Krown and RustCheck are not in the States.

Well you must have some other Brand there.Maybe try going to the Krown site and asking there if they can steer you to a comparable Service...it's worth a shot.

Oh and as for the warranty; here in Canada undercoating the vehicle WILL definitely NOT void the warranty, I would assume the same goes in the States.

mazda changed the 3's metal quality in 2007, and the 2008.5 models. so the new ones shouldn't rust as bad. Problem is, when rust starts, its hard to catch and fully remove. basic can of asphault undercoating and chassis-rust-protection-oil at canadian tire, spend 50$ on a few cans and spray the underbody, then u never have to worry about rust
also, apparently it doesnt matter if the car was made in america or japan for rust

I've got an 08.5 and it's sneaking on me. Luckily i caught it before winter...

edit: False alarm! It was bothering me so much after posting these photos I went otuside and scrubbed it down. Looks like it was melted tire or something. Anyways, keep vigilant with looking for rust and if you want that extra protection, spray a coat of plastidip in your wheel wells and fenders this winter.

Those modules are a gigantic rip off. My friend has an 05 Honda Civic, and he had one of those things installed. I think he has the rustiest 05 Civic on the road. The bottoms of all 4 doors are rusted, as well he has rust showing in the seams of the front strut towers. I half believe the rust module is accelerating the rust
There are all sorts of topics relating to how useless these things are.
Oh and you got royally ripped off for a grand. Dealer cost on those things is around 125 bucks.
